Wicked Awesome Paella

Visit Olde Madrid if you are really, really hungry. They serve a Paella that is gigantic, and fabulous. I usually take about half of it home. I have visited here several times. as it is only about a block from my home. I usually go with friends, and it is a good place to share a paella -- it... read more

If you are looking for a single meal in Racine, you have to make this your stop. This family ran business has a menu inspired by recipes from home. Small tapas plates make it a great experience to share among the table and try many new dishes. As a resident of the area, this is our #1 go-to for weekend... More

We are heading there tonight for dinner. Not just tapas but Paella as well. Also luscious Sangria. We think this is a real asset to Racine and has endured the test of several years of operation with consistently good food and a nice atmosphere.

Not a big restaurant, just one room with around fifteen tables and a bar you can eat at. Pleasant atmosphere with ochre coloured walls. Friendly service Well flavoured large tapas dishes (so not traditional Spanish small plates) all we tried were good, with the meatballs my favourite. Pallas were also well liked.

Tapas are small spanish dishes, usually served as appetizers with drinks just after office hours to bridge the time till dinner at about 11pm.... Nobody outside Spain has dinner that late, so no surprise that tapas have grown info meal dishes everywhere else, but they are usually still small plates. Not in Olde Madrid. Here each tapas was almost a... More

I have heard about Ole Madrid for several years, but never gone. A friend suggested it last week, and I was pleasantly surprised.m I often avoid tapas because they tend to be priced high for small quantities. This was not the case here. Three tapas more than filled up my friend and me. They were very tasty, and I liked... More

This is not the place to eat if you are watching your salt intake. I've tried this place 3 times and all I can taste is salt and, more often than not, I see most of my food swimming in oil (assume olive oil). I attribute the success of this place to the friendly staff (they are nice) and the... More

Had to circle around a few times to notice the place, it isn't really distinctive compared to the stores around it. But it was worth the effort. Had a great sangria, followed by a big bowl of a seafood bisque. I hope I get the opportunity to go back and try some other things from the menu that I had... More

Olde Madrid has to be one of the best kept secrets in Racine. The setting of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in Europe. There are many Tapas to select from, the Cortez plate was great. For the main course, there are nine varieties of Paella's to choose from. We went with the Marisco Traditional; however, while waiting... More

This is one of the top 5 restaurants in Racine. The tangerine infused olives, cherry chicken, and sangria are our favorites. Dishes are creative, fresh, and fun. My only complaint is that the food seems a bit greasier than it needs to be. Desserts are all good.
