If you are looking for fancy this is not your place. It is a local restaurant mainly for locals and if you keep that in mind you will enjoy eating here. Yes the service is a little slow and the dishes served are not gourmet but we found the overall experience to be good. The food was fresh, the drinks... More

We chose Newport Shores because of its proximity to Lake Michigan. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly; locals obviously love the place. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Servers were helpful. Hope to go there again, if we're back in the area!

May need a little updating but seemed clean enough. The food was good- I had a seafood combo and thought the price was great at under twenty dollars, the Stella beer on tap was very cold and even served in the proper glass... You have to appreciate that! The service was ok- I think our waitress forgot us. At one... More

Great lunch. Wife had the shrimp kabob and I had the shaved rib eye sandwich. Both very good. Nice cool breeze on the patio

Friendly waitstaff, amazingly kind owner, and the only place you would want to be on a beautiful summer night! Live music really added to our experience! Bluegill Fish fry is always excellent.

Had lunch at 2 pm. Service took forever, but we had a very kind waitress. The beer is great - nice big glasses of a nice selection of tap beers. The seafood chowder was not great nor was the French dip sandwich. The deep fried cheese curds were wonderful. The catch of the day was very nice. Windy day -... More

My family went to Newport for Friday fish fry. The place was packed but luckily, we had a reservation. Almost everyone in our party ordered the perch which was delicious. My daughter ordered the catfish and it was not completely cooked. Being a teenager and afraid of embarrassment, she wouldn't let me point it out to the server. Otherwise, everything else... More

This is an older supper club style restaurant along the shores of Lake Michigan. We had a window table with a stunning view of the lake. Interior of the restaurant was dated. Sunday broasted chicken dinner was $9.95 and was done correctly. The steak sandwich was very good with the exception of the smoothed bun it came on. The seafood... More

All servers and bartenders are beyond terrific. Most of them have been working there for 20 some years. Says alot about the owner! The chef is very good at coming up with some unusual and mighty yummy dishes. The restaurant is the only one in town that is right on the water, so the scenery can't be beat either.

My sister and I went to Newport Shores last week for dinner. I ordered the broasted chicken and she had the scallops. My chicken was just right...golden brown, crispy and not at all greasy. My sister's scallops were cooked perfectly and she said that they were delicious. Our server has worked there for years and she was very accomodating. She... More
