We drove down to Harbor View Cafe again this week - always try to make the trip at least once a year. Stunning drive on both sides of the river - though the Wisconsin side more picturesque - great shopping in Stockholm on the way down. We got there around 12:30 on a Saturday, and only had a 10 minute... More

We have heard so many fabulous things about Harbor View BUT…we could have created a better dinner at home. Now honestly our server was super, and the view was nice. BUT fish was over cooked, we have had cassoulet in France, this was not even close to cassoulet. I hope the regular chef was sick… We might go back again... More

Spent the day driving the Great River Road which is so sensational and ended up at lunch at the Harbor View. Really an outstanding quaint place. Chalkboard menu changes regularly. The Caesar salad was the best I've ever eaten. The lasagna was vegetarian, but the flavor was outstanding and I didn't miss the meat. My spouse had the lamb cassoulet... More

We stopped in here because of the great reviews, which were justified. We ordered the lamb cassoulet and the catch fish which were both quite tasty but a little on the heavy side, particularly the sauce for the cat fish. Another reviewer complained about portion size, but ours were very big. We had the wine from the local winery (one... More

This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time! The cheese plate appetizer was delicious and substantial. The saffron chicken was amazing and their house made breads were delicious. Please note that this is a very popular place, be prepared for long waits or plan to arrive at least a half an hour before 5pm... More

We have been dining here for years. If you like meeting new people and trying new things, this is the restaurant to try. The drive is beautiful and part of the pleasant experience. Given we're old timers here, I must, sadly comment on the shrinking portion sizes. My last visit I ordered the halibet. It came on a plate with... More

Small charming restaurant. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The view of the small marina was very pleasant. Fish was excellent and fresh. I had marlin on a bed of spinach. The spinach was cooked, zesty, but not limp. I could eat this every day. It was bit expensive for such a small casual restaurant. Our bill was 121.00 without tip... More

Had always wanted to try Harbor View after working at the summer camp in Pepin- it was incredible and an absolute must visit from anyone lucky enough to be travelling around the area! We both ate beautiful seafood, the service was fabulous and would love to go back. If you're waiting for a table we can also really recommend checking... More

We have dined here a half dozen times over the past 10 years. This is a special place that has no equal. Whenever we are in the area, we choose the Harbor View. Most recently we treated guests from Pennsylvania to dinner here. They agree that it is fabulous. We arrived at 4:15PM on Saturday, and put our name in... More

Must be our fifth year and hope to keep coming back for more, just the drive to get there is spectacular driving along the river, the wait outside is a part of the fun. If you DONT l;ike meeting people, talking about your daily adventures and great food this is probably not for you. Casually mention where you are from... More
