An interesting menu in Onalaska

This restaurant is in the space of an embroidery shop where I once worked, so I had to check it out. Wow, can you say "gutted the building?" However nice it is, it feels like so many other dark wood, heavy bar stool places I've seen. There is some flair with flowers and it is nicely appointed, but... read more

When your server says, "it's just one of those days" as a last ditch attempt at a tip, you know the service was awful. This is nothing new, but when combined with terrible food, inaccurate orders, and a very long wait, it's just not worth it. I love to patronize our local restaurants, and have actually given this place several... More

In town on a quick business trip, and was happy to find a nice place like Mary Cody's. It is at the corner of Rt 35 and Main St, parking is just on the street. It's a small place with probably a dozen tables and a small bar area that faces the sidewalk. They have a nice selection of food... More

We stopped here for a late lunch. They had a nice variety of selections for lunch. I had the black and bleu, and my daughter had the soup and sandwich combo. Everything tasted great. The waiter was very friendly. The decor was relaxing.

We go often, and everything we try is something special. I especially look forward to the seasonal features and trying the innovative and upscale ways she prepares even the most basic comfort foods. On this visit, I tried the tenderloin. It was set on a demi-glace with a combo of roasted red peppers and blue cheese on top. I requested... More

We decided to try something different for our Friday fish restaurant. Well different is what we found and I'm glad we did! Fabulous atmosphere beautifully decorated with a wine flair, right down to the table candles (oil lights in wine bottles). All you can eat fish; we chose baked and battered. The batter was great-light, whipped, nothing heavy or oily... More

We had been for a cruising Saturday. It was a top down day for sure. Bright sun and comfortable humidity. We and our friends decided to make a whole day of joy riding. After a pleasant day, we decided to try Mary Cody's. The place is very clean and well appointed. Service was prompt and the server could not have... More

My husband and I recently attended the Pub Dinner at Mary Cody's and what a treat! The dinner was for reserved patrons only, not open to the public, so we got the undivided attention of the staff, Mary and her wine specialist, Jeffrey, who is a native of Wales. He introduced each course with his knowledgable pairings of beer and... More

My wife and I had not been to Maggie's in a couple of years because of previous bad experiences. Tonight was no better. We started with a drink order. My wife asked for a hard apple cider, the server said all they had was apple beer (Angry Orchard). I ordered Canadian Club and water, she tried to bring me brandy.... More

Visited Maggies for their Friday night all-you-can-eat fish fry and got a good dinner at a reasonable price. My wife, on the other hand ordered Chicken Marsala which was only average and over-priced. While our server was very friendly, the service was slow. I had to waited quite some time (5+ minutes) for a second helping of batter-fried cod. Lastly,... More
