Always a stop worth making to this place. Inside has the typical "Northwoods" feel & can also sit in the outdoor patio area out back. Food your typical pub selections & decent pizza. They also hold live music including a Blues fest. In fall, also a good place to catch NFL games as they have plenty of TVs thoughout, including... More

We stopped for our first visit on a Monday night and the place was packed. The special was s perch fish plate. Very good snd the service was excellent. Very fair prices. We can't wait to go back and try other entrees.

This nostalgic feeling road side stop is easy to find and offers the friendly, inviting atmosphere you would expect from your trip to the north woods. It is great place to eat on your way in or out of town or for lunch or dinner when you just don't feel like cooking. Expect a casual, moderately priced meal, in authentic... More

Cute rustic log cabin feel. Food was average, definitely nothing spectacular. With only one waitress taking care of several tables with no help, service was a bit slow. It's understandable that when food comes up, it needs to be delivered, but waiting for a few sodas shouldn't take 15 minutes. Thankfully we weren't in a rush. Had to ask for... More

We made a special trip into 'The Bear', in fact our only venture off the lake the entire 4th weekend. We anticipated a busy place and it was pretty full. We were seated after just a short time (10-15 mins) and then were disappointed that the wait for a pizza (the main dish everyone was looking for) would be about... More

We went to the Black Bear for breakfast on Father's Day - really love their breakfast! They were packed! That being said, the staff was wonderful, just about doing back flips to make sure people were getting their drinks (bloody mary's - great) and getting their orders in and served fast. Can't tell you how many workers they had that... More

a friend recommended black bear bar. while the interior décor was a bit dated but clean .the outside scenery was beautiful, with a small river running through property, lots of blooming flowers. There were even tables to eat outside. Now to the good part. Lots of specialty beers on tap. Tuesday is unlimited topping pizza night. One of the best... More

We had our family dinner here during our recent fishing trip to the flowage. The atmosphere was veru reminscent of 1950s cocktail lounge and dining...so quaint! The food was plentiful and tasty. Very nice overall!

We went here for breakfast on our way to Winter Park (practically next door). Even from the outside, you could see the Black Bear Bar was going to be the right place for good food and atmosphere. We were seated near a large window that looked out on a scenic river and bridge. Other customers pointed out a bald eagle... More
