I'll be back

A friend turned me on to this place. A lot of the staff had long hair and tats. I have absolutely no problem with that. If you do you're a prudish jerk. Great beer selection. I had a grilled cheese and tomato soup with fries. Really, really good. My friend had an ahi sandwich which he... read more

How can you go wrong with a restaurant featured on diners drive ins and dives? I got the compact turkey dinner and by boyfriend go the meatloaf. Both were very good. I'm partial to the compact turkey dinner though. Great blood marys to, served up with a cute little beer bottle chaser. Save room for a cupcake for desert or... More

Interesting down town restaurant. I guess I would classify it as modern comfort food. located in a part of town with lots of other good restaurants, you know the food has to be good for them to have stayed in business this long. I do not remember the name of the dinner I had, but is was toasted butter sourdough... More

Don't understand why this place is so popular. I have been there about 3 times and service has always been extremely slow. The food is just so and the menu is pricy.

We had the meatlof special chili cheese fries, tofu salad, Mac n cheese and the fish fry. Everything was excellent including the service. Of course we were there on Sundya and had the bottomless bacon bowl! You gotta go!

Great Service. Phenomenal beer selection. We had dinner and brunch here. Food was amazing. Very cool atmosphere. Will definitely return. Hands down, one of the best places to get a bite to eat in Milwaukee.

Oh, wow, what a meal! Comet Cafe's Thanksgiving dinner balls are a brilliant combination of deliciousness and fun and the gravy completes it for my favorite meal on the menu. #2 would be the mac 'n cheese. Wow. Would recommend splitting it, though, because it's a lot of food. Great vegetarian options were on the menu, too. The service was... More

Great food. Great service. Great beer. What more could you possibly want. I visited the Comet with my fam and we all really liked our experience. The open faced meatloaf sandwich was real good and my Grandson said the grilled cheese sandwich is the best ever. I can't wait to return and have the Mac&Cheese and a Bloody Mary.

A bar on one side and a cafe on the other. When we visited, the bar was far more busy. Featured on TV...and for good reason. Has a throwback feel and friendly service. Food is good and hearty. Try the meatloaf wrapped in bacon and the beer/cheese fries.
