To start: this restaurant is a hike (1.5 miles) from the downtown/Riverwalk section of the city. At the same time, it's definitely worth the walk. It has a funky vibe, no reservations, and a hip crowd. We had the beer and cheese fries (with bacon of course...) and they were FANTASTIC and plenty for three to share. The entrees were... More

I appreciated that this restaurant had vegan options available on the menu. Although the food is heavily fried and probably not the healthiest, it was decent. The vegan apple pie was very good. I would eat here again when in Milwaukee.

I had a friend visiting from out of town. She said she loves mac and cheese, so I searched for best mac and cheese in Milwaukee. This was one of the top 2 that came up. First, hand muddled old fashioneds made perfectly. Then great poutine. Topped off with amazing mac and cheese! Will definitely go back!

This place is as advertised-cool combo of bar & lunch counter-it's always busy for a reason folks so put your name on the list & relax with a bevy-hipster cool people watching & great vibe!

We stopped here on a cross country road trip and it was one of the best meals we had the entire trip. I love duck and it doesn't appear that often on restaurant menus so I was excited to see duck poutine--delicious! My son loved the turkey dinner croquettes--stuffing, mashed potatoes, and turkey rolled into balls and fried. The best... More

Went here for lunch during the weekend of Summerfest in Milwaukee. This is probably the reason the restaurant was filled with "hipsters". Plenty of beards, hats and sunglasses. The food was fine, but I would also say fairly average. They do serve breakfast until 3pm for those who are into breakfast. Also some outside dining available.

I stop into the Comet Café when ever I am in Milwaukee for bunch and I have never been disappointed. The Bloody Mary's are the best I have ever had (and come with a beer sidecar) and the food is always amazing. Normally the hardest thing, aside from getting a table, is choosing what I want to eat. Milwaukee is... More

The Comet Cafe was recommended to us by a server from Mader’s Restaurant earlier in the day. She recommended the cafe if you really like hamburgers. Comet Cafe is a dive, but a good dive. I did find it funny that we had to check ourselves in, but this is a busy... More
