Great breakfast

Glad we were standing on the curb when they unlocked the doors on a Sunday morning. The place had a steady stream of hungry folks coming in as soon as they opened. It was absolutely delicious. Great service. Great atmosphere. I don't think I'll ever get back to Milwaukee, but if I do, I am definitely eating here again. Would... More

We like to try a Diners, Drives in, and Dive place when we travel, so after a quick google search, we landed at the Comet Cafe. Yum yum yum. As many others have posted, the Mac and cheese was to-die-for amazing. My husband got the turkey balls that Guy Fieri had. Said they were a little salty but good. I... More

What a tremendous restaurant! We were blown away by the Comet Cafe. Everything we ate was fantastic, but the Mac & Cheese was unbelievable, the best on the planet. It's a hipster kind of place, with great music and an extensive beer list. The food is obscenely good, but make sure someone at your table orders the Mac & Cheese.... More

Here is the hard truth about Comet Cafe... it is great. When a restaurant is great you should expect some amount of a wait. The food/drink selection is great, and there is always a home-made desert available for purchase too! This is one of my favorite lunch spots!

We just had to try and we were so glad we did! My boyfriend had the meatloaf! It looked great, I snuck some of his mash potatoes, and wow holy garlic! (We love garlic) the Mac and cheese with bacon was awesome, I could only finish about half as it was so filling! We took a nice walk after, but... More

I ate at the previous version of this place many years ago and discovered after returning yesterday that they expanded into a full bar. So the north side is a lunch counter and the south side is a stand-up bar with full drink service. I had the artichoke melt and subbed tomato soup for the french fries for an additional... More

I am so glad Guy Fieri had this place on his show! The sweetest server delivered our amazing meals that were featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The AJ's meal was fabulous! What an awesome concoction! I'm only bummed I couldn't finish it all! Since our hotel didn't have a fridge or microwave, I couldn't bring home leftovers. My husband... More

Love this place. All natural and soooo good. The mac and cheese is the best thing ever, pretty much everything is good. Drinks were great. It was crowded and we had to wait but that is just because its that good everyone wants some.

Yep. The Comet is crowded. No doubt about it. But when the crowd seems to be mostly locals, you know you're on to something. Grab a seat at the bar, which seems to free up quicker, and make sure you order bacon with your breakfast (unless, of course, you're vegetarian - in which case ... sorry, but I ate the... More

We went for my birthday and as it was a sunday and I ordered one of their many micro brews the waiter also brought a pound of bacon, LOL. But their turkey balls with gravy and bacon wrapped meatloaf and the fact that they utilize the area's farms for fresh produce its just a great place to eat!
