My husband saw an episode of Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins which featured the Comet Cafe and wanted to check it out. The place was packed but thankfully we found a place at the counter. The cafe has a great vibe and the waiter we had was very friendly and provided great service. I ordered the special which was a half... More

Oh, my gosh! I had the "Fruit Fest" for breakfast which consisted of fruit, yogurt and granola. I must say this is the best combination I have had for breakfast. My son had the veggie omelet and granddaughter had an egg plate, all of which were delicious. service was terrific as was the coffee. Very reasonable priced and I highly... More

I had the meatloaf and it was probably the best other than my Mothers. The food all seemed homemade and the board indicated locally sourced. Found it as a Diner, Drive In and Dive place. It met all the qualifications.

This is a common question we ask when going downtown. That and "Let's stop at Comet." All of the food is filling and delicious. Vegan options abound! My current favorite is the vegan apple walnut burger. The smoked apples really make the dish. If we are really hungry we get the deep fried "ribs" as an appetizer. Sometimes, we just... More

Comment is a long stab list fixture in this Eastside neighborhood. They have added outdoor seating which is always packed during the summer months. One can always trust that you can get a good home cooked, healthy, delicious meal whenever you stop in. they have large booths for families to enjoy as well as seating at countertops. They are committed... More

This restaurant wins local "people's choice" awards year after year. Read a "Best of" guide and the Comet Cafe is listed. The local weekly paper has even rated it top post hangover restaurant! The food is local grown or sourced, prepared from scratch and comes in gernerous portions. It's a bit of an eclectic menu; check it out on line... More

I had lunch recently with a co-employee. This is the most creative menu in town, with really good comfort food (e.g., mac 'n cheese to die for) at very reasonable prices. Something for everyone and all good.

We loved this part of town. The food was remarkable from start to finish. Honestly every dish was polished to perfection. The simple Mac and cheese is worthy of a sonnet. I've had dreams about it.

Aaaaaaaamazing. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu! I had the (vegan) Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Great serious. Would definitely recommend!
