First time for Sunday Brunch! Never disappointed eating here! The eggs benedict, French toast and bacon pancakes are wonderful! Whole family loves this restaurant.

We loved it! Would come back again. Gets crowded but the food is so worth it!! Cool veggie options like walnut burger, seitan Salisbury steak, and veggie rib cutlets. Also the beer cheese sauce on the fries is AMAZING! And good drinks too. Fun dive.

I used to be a regular here when I lived across the street and recently stopped by for lunch. I love the wide range of vegetarian options! It's so nice to go to a casual restaurant where the food is good and you have options beyond a mushroom sandwich. It's a fun diner-type place where you can relax and enjoy... More

Visited Comet Cafe while in Milwaukee for a wedding. We chose this restaurant as it had been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives". The menu is simple but unique and I would need to go back at least 5 more times to try all the things I was curious about on the menu. I and several others had the meatloaf... More

Comet is comfort food for both the omnivore and the herbivore. The vegetarian sausage is probably the best sausage I've eaten in my life, and none of the vegetarian options disappoint. All the food is extremely well-prepared, delicious and filling. The desserts are to die for. The only drawback is the wait time, be prepared to wait 45 minutes or... More

Just what you expect from comfort food in Milwaukee: spicey fries and burgers, craft beers or malts and there's bacon, bacon, bacon. Bacon pancakes. A BELT, (Bacon, egg, lettuce and tomato). Yum, yum all around. Founded in 1947. We're glad we found it in 2014.

I flew into Milwaukee for a girls weekend and our first stop was the Comet Cafe. We were not disappointed! The portions were huge (none of us could finish our meal) and the food was delicious! We wanted to sample some of the desserts that were on display but none of us had room! I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf... More

This place has soul, in an old building that retains lots of its original character. It's a hopping place that offers excellent breakfast options. There seemed to be a bloody Mary special the morning we were there, so the bar is open at breakfast too. The big square fluffy bisquits were excellent. I could only eat half the daily breakfast... Great homely food (loved the bacon-wrapped meatloaf/mash/gravy and my partner had some kind of amazing giant mac and cheese thing) and loved the buttery Rusty Nail Pale Ale. Nice atmosphere too. Other reviewers talk about the 'hip' vibe but the hipster quotient isn't through the roof; there was a good mix of people on the night we went. Fun, dark,... More
