My husband wanted to try BBQ brisket for his birthday meal. My oldest son suggested we go to Maxie's Southern Comfort. He and his fiancé have eaten there a few times and had great meals. When we got there, the five of us were seated right away. From what I understand you normally have to wait so we just happened... More

Get the Mac and cheese and the oysters on the half shell. They have great mojitos as well. Loud environment was the biggest downfall.

We decided early on Friday afternoon, that we wanted to go somewhere for a Fish Fry. After reading the Internet list of best fish fries in the area, we decided to on Maxie's. Husband and son had been there earlier this year and had mentioned how much they enjoyed the fish--but had a long wait, as they had arrived after... More

I was in Milwaukee for the weekend and the wife surprised me by taking me to a southern seafood place. The menu looked great, diverse in their types of BBQ and southern cooking, and it was hard to make a choice. I was wondering if there was going to be enough of the Catfish Po'Boy for me but I needn't... More

First off - if you go here on a weekend or a night with special events, prepare to wait & wait! You can call an hour ahead to put your name in which helps alleviate too much of a wait. The service is either really great or just alright. I have not had consistent experiences but continue to go back... More

We have loved Maxie's since it has opened. The food is consistantly outstanding. My issue is with the rediculous wait time to be seated, although friendly wait staff, very slow service and the fact that we watched the bartender put together our Old Fashions and saw her completely leave out the alchohol. twice. We did call her out on it... More

Our first experience at Maxie's was a good one. If you are into fresh oysters or fried oysters, look no further. I enjoyed the plethora of BBQ options. The pulled pork was amazing, especially when served up with a side of delicious Mac N' Cheese. The wait staff was extremely accommodating to my allergy needs, and though my shellfish allergy... More

On a recommendation from a friend, headed to Maxie's in Tosa and enjoyed a nice dinner outside. We shared a bunch of stuff so we could maximize the things we could taste as it was a first time visit. Our waiter was attentive and gave us some good reccos. He didn't hover, nor did he make us wait. We started... More

Our first trip to Maxie's was definitely a great experience. The food was great and service was the best! My husband had the Watermellon Salad and it was wonderful and refreshing. He chose BBQ Brisket which as full of flavor, it came with a huge helping of Mac n cheese and an arugula salad. He walked home with Mac and... More
