OMG...try the beans and rice!

So many southern options, you won't know what to choose. I won't lie...I'm a creature of habit and must always, always have the beans and rice. Great location, ample parking, great food!

Oysters and crab cakes, yummy. It's all I can report. Its loud but food and service were great. Flavors were on and cooking was spot on.

Coming off a recent trip to the Big Easy, we weren't sure how the flavor of Nawlins would fare in Brew Town -- but wow! what a pleasant surprise! We truly enjoyed Maxie's. The ambiance is quirky-cool fun and the food is fab! I had the Shrimp & Grits, which was spicy-delicious. Hubby had the crabcakes, which were wonderful. He... More

I want to love the food at Maxie's, but I don't. It's just average at best. What is far above average is the atmosphere. We went for a family night (kids eat for $1), and I had some good wine, a decent dinner, and some happy and well-behaved kids, thanks to a family-friendly atmosphere (crayons! decent noise level!), competent service,... Maxie's was a great spot for delicious comfort food. The service was excellent and so was the food. We had shrimp and grits, braised beef cheek, beef pasta, and crabcakes.

While waiting for friends we were meeting for dinner. I had some oysters on the half shell and a beer which were served by a friendly and hospitable bartender. When our party was complete, we were shown to a table up upstairs. I had the Abita beer soaked Duroc hog cheeks, which were highly recommended by Justin, our server.although this... More

If your tired of all the standard restaurant food options, try Maxie's. Like the restaurant advertises, they do good BBQ, seafood and Deep South cuisine. I love their cornbread and their homemade pepper hot sauce. Lots of bourbon and brew options to wash it all down with. My only critique of the several visits here was the N.C. BBQ I... More

Interesting place with a cajun/creole spin. We enjoyed everything, while it didn't quite make it to authentic for me, it was still all very, very good. Great service. Huge portions and reasonable prices.

Love this place. By far the best Cajun/creole in the area. Waiters are knowledgeable and make great suggestions to match your tastes. The Jumbalaya is an old stand by but the Marlin i had was absolutely killer. Top notch!

Wow...excellent dinner here. Our server was outstanding, he was able make recommendations and speak to size and taste of dishes and was attentive the entire meal. The tofu wings are a must have. The BBQ sauce on them is spicy and saucy. Be prepared for the New Orleans style shrimp to be richer than BBQ shrimp I have had in... More
