We went on a Saturday and had an hour and a quarter to wait for a table, they don't take reservations on a Saturday. The drinks were good, although on the pricey side. Food was excellent, I was especially impressed as they were really willing to work with me to accommodate a food allergy. I had the trout and my... More

Maxie's was disappointing on all levels. It took an hour to get seated, Thirty minutes to get our orders. Our food arrived 30 minutes later. Dishes were generally over cooked. Our server was clearly overworked and had checked out. She did the minimum amount of work possible and was borderline surly. And this was on a Sunday evening @7PM. I... More

Went to this place tonight, a Friday night and had to wait about 30 minutes to get in for our group of 5. When seated our server gave us a thorough review of the specials and the menu items. Very good selection of food and beverages and both were excellent. I had the jambalaya which was very good. The bourbon... More

Maxie's offers great southern food in of all places Milwaukee. The beef brisket and pork ribs are divine, but you can't always get the pork ribs. Green fried tomatoes were tasty. It's a fun atmosphere that is perfect for a night on the town with your friends. And the location is close to Potawatomi and Miller Park.

We visited on a Wednesday night in September, and took advantage of their 10 Days in Tosa special of crab corn chowder, pulled pork, half shrimp and grits, and baked chocolate chip cookie dessert. Service was good. Food was good. Annnnnd they now have a parking lot across the street, so that is great. Overall, good visit and we would... More

We lived in the south for many years, and when we had a chance to go to Maxies, we thought we were back in the south! The meal was spot on with it New Orleans seasoning and quality ingredients. Oysters on the half shell at the bar before dinner was a treat. We then were escorted upstairs for dinner and... More

My wife and I have been to Maxie's before and never had anything less than exceptional food and service. On this particular occasion, we ordered the Mac and Cheese as an appetizer to split (as usual) then had the Shrimp and Grits as our entree. The Shrimp and Grits doesn't typically come with andouille sausage, but you can get it... More

This place has the best food! Had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer (which can be made gluten free!) they were so tender and delicious. I had shrimp and grits, amazing! My husband had the pulled pork which was ready flavorful and good. My daughter had a burger/no bun and mashed potatoes... Nice GF option. Mother in law had... More

My husband wanted to try BBQ brisket for his birthday meal. My oldest son suggested we go to Maxie's Southern Comfort. He and his fiancé have eaten there a few times and had great meals. When we got there, the five of us were seated right away. From what I understand you normally have to wait so we just happened... More
