Great place to get away for a few hours

I love the atmosphere at Maxie's. Some southern charm with crystal chandeliers. The music is great and the restaurant is one of the cleanest I have seen. I had the Shrimp and Grits. Large and tasty gulf shrimp. I also ordered a Jalapeno Margarita. It has a nice kick to it! They are always... read more

Awesome daily specials, but their staples never disappoint. They do a lot of modern twists on their drinks and food that make it an interesting meal each time. One of our most visited restaurants.

I have gone here with my family 3times in the last year hoping that each time would be better. We were disappointed each and every time. The service always took too long even on a Sunday night. This is a terrible place with terrible service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Have been to Maxies a few times, most recently last night inn way to brewers game. Always excellent food and great staff. Have to go early because there was a wait by 5. Favorite spot right off the freeway.

Though I live in FLA where there is water everywhere, I never come to MKE without stopping here for awesome food and friendly service. It's like the employees are family. You feel their hospitality like you are in their home. All the food is exceptional including in-house desserts. In a land of lakes, why would the chef decide to use... More

I went to Maxie's with a co-worker with one mission in mind, to have the Beef Brisket. It was fabulous, priced right and the portion was enough for a second meal. If you have a chance to eat at Maxie's, try the Beef Brisket. The brisket was served with White Macaroni/cheese + a Salad for $23.00. Maxie's only accepts reservations... More

My Birthday was a couple weeks ago, and my boyfriend took me here to celebrate. He did not tell me where we were going to keep me curious all week. Honestly, If he would've told me prior to this visit, i would have maybe leaned going elsewhere, as my past experiences have been mediocre. HOWEVER, this past visit was wonderful!... More

We are not from this area so I relied on reviews to choose a restaurant... with awesome reviews I expected something tasty! The ribs were so tough I couldn't chew them and the french fries were rubbery in a pool of grease! The meal wasn't edible and it all went back... my husbands country fried chicken was super bland. After... More

We’re very sorry your ribs were not prepared correctly. We work hard to serve excellent barbecue, but we’re not perfect and it’s clear we made a mistake. We’re also very sorry we did not have the chance to prepare something else you would truly enjoy. Our goal is to serve high-quality, delicious food, and we will continue to work hard... More

I met a former co-worker for dinner tonight at "Maxie's Southern Comfort", which had to shorten it's name to "Maxie's" because the makers of Southern Comfort weren't happy about the restaurant's name, or, that is what urban legend says. The restaurant tries to provide a southern experience. Walls are painted red, and signs over the bar indicate how many days... More
