Eclectic Food and Fun Friendly Service

Though I live in FLA where there is water everywhere, I never come to MKE without stopping here for awesome food and friendly service. It's like the employees are family. You feel their hospitality like you are in their home. All the food is exceptional including in-house desserts. In a land of... read more

I went to Maxie's with a co-worker with one mission in mind, to have the Beef Brisket. It was fabulous, priced right and the portion was enough for a second meal. If you have a chance to eat at Maxie's, try the Beef Brisket. The brisket was served with White Macaroni/cheese + a Salad for $23.00. Maxie's only accepts reservations... More

My Birthday was a couple weeks ago, and my boyfriend took me here to celebrate. He did not tell me where we were going to keep me curious all week. Honestly, If he would've told me prior to this visit, i would have maybe leaned going elsewhere, as my past experiences have been mediocre. HOWEVER, this past visit was wonderful!... More

We are not from this area so I relied on reviews to choose a restaurant... with awesome reviews I expected something tasty! The ribs were so tough I couldn't chew them and the french fries were rubbery in a pool of grease! The meal wasn't edible and it all went back... my husbands country fried chicken was super bland. After... More

Food was ok but way over priced nice atmosphere but not enough to compensate for average food. Would not go back ,I don't know what all the hype is about this place.

I met a former co-worker for dinner tonight at "Maxie's Southern Comfort", which had to shorten it's name to "Maxie's" because the makers of Southern Comfort weren't happy about the restaurant's name, or, that is what urban legend says. The restaurant tries to provide a southern experience. Walls are painted red, and signs over the bar indicate how many days... More

We have being going to Maxie's for several years now, and have always had good food and good service. Tonite was a huge disappointment and we took people that hadn't been before. We ordered mussels as an appetizer, and the first batch was cold. We told the waitress and they gave us a new batch, half of which were raw.... More

We’re very sorry to hear of this hugely disappointing visit. Our hosts should not have rushed you, and should have graciously helped you to your table. Your server should have worked to make sure you had a meal you truly enjoyed. We did not take the Caesar salad off the menu due to lack of fresh ingredients – we did... More

We went on a Saturday night for dinner. The wait for a table was one and a half hours. Don't go if you are in a hurry. Very good food--willing to work with special diets.

Not our first visit, but we are never, ever disappointed. Always friendly service, and well educated in what to expect from the specials. All accompanied by good 'beverages' and great food. We even tried new things and were "wowed" again. It's my favorite go-to place for a special eat-out experience, even though it can be crowded and a little noisy.

From the moment we arrived, we were made welcome, provided excellent service, savored delicious food, and enjoyed a warm atmosphere. The jambalaya is worth the visit! The pork jowl is outstanding! The BBQ is amazing! We dined there on a Wednesday evening at which time they offered $10 discount on every bottle of wine. Excellent savings! The server was wonderfully... More
