La Merenda offers an eclectic selection of tapas/ small plates influenced by local fresh ingredients and international flavors. I've been ther twice and it was excellent both times. Most recently, I had a special of smoked halibut with risotto is a green garlic sauce with baby sugar snaps and Parmesan. It was really creamy with a little snap from the... More

Each bite you take allows you to savor a different part of the world. Their wide selection of carefully-picked out tapas will satisfy the most diverse group of people you take to eat. My personal favorites are the Argentinean Braised Beef and the Sambal Goreng Udang (Indonesian fried spicy shrimp). Another interesting thing about La Merenda is that no two... More

What more can you say besides awesome. Everyone on staff was friendly and sincere. Decor and environment was warm clean and inviting. Food was awesome. Pricing was much lower then I had anticipated. It was pretty near watching people standing at the door in the light rain 15 minutes before they were open. Great meal.

I ate at La Merenda this weekend with a group of 8. We made a reservation for 8:30, but didn't get seated until almost 9...the dining room is quite small and they were very busy. The restaurant isn't in the best location as it's not really near much else...quite a ways from all of the other restaurants/bars in the Third... More

I had done my research before taking my group of 6 to La Merenda. But as we walked our way past construction sites and freight train crossings (that made us late for the reservation) 20 minutes from downtown, and approached the small, unassuming building on National Street, there were some grumblings. However...once inside, we were warmly welcomed, good wine and... More

We had reservations for about 18 for a yearly staff appreciation dinner on a Friday night. FYI: Reservations are always a good idea, as it can be hard to get in the same day, especially on the weekends. They also had free valet parking - not sure if that is always the case but could be convenient for some. We... More

Great food and good value. We ate outdoors which was really nice. The menu had some very interesting choices and we all liked everything we had ordered. Would definitely return.

Have enjoyed both lunches and dinners at La Merenda in Milwaukee and always recommend this spot highly. All items on the menu are so interestingly prepared it is hard to make a selection! They cover many types of cuisine, use fresh, local ingredients and the service is great. Nice wine selection, great coffee, it's the whole package! Enjoy.

By twisted I mean a delicious approach to tapas. We were there on a Monday and they had half priced bottles of wine, which is great. We arrived at 5 pm and were able to get a table for two with no reservation, but had it been past 5:30 not sure we would have been that lucky. For the two... More

What a fun place. Just my wife and I, servere recommended ordering 2 or 3 courses initially, than 2 or 3 after. So we started with a pork dish (pork belly w/crepes), a shrimp dish and a trout dish. All delicious, and before you wrinkle your nose at "pork belly"....try it............we also had a drink with our meal as well... More
