The menu had few, weird choices. Lots of duck. The Argentinian beef I tried was almost raw. Not sure if that's how it was supposed to be, but I couldn't eat it. I didn't think the food was that great on this visit. It was very busy and loud. This restaurant is in a kind of sketchy area and there... More

This restaurant was highly recommended and did not disappoint. Great variety of creative and very tasty options for food. The staff is busy but attentive and helpful with service and with guiding a nice experience through the menu. The bar staff and beverages were a pleasure; must try the Manhattan...excellent taste and a fun presentation.

My wife and I just visited La Merenda for the third year in a row and found it even better than before! We chose the local farmers salad, seasonal vegetable tart and lamb brosato from the the menu and loved all three. Our excellent server recommended two specials, a shrimp/scallop tostada and creme brulee topped with fresh strawberries, that were... More

The food was good, the service was great, until the hostess came up to us as we were finishing our dessert and literally said (and I'm not making this up), "I'm sorry but your table time is up". We were still eating, we were not lingering, we ordered plenty of fare. It was very busy. A lot of people were... More

I love everything about La Merenda. All the food choices, the pitchers of sangria, the atmosphere, the service, and BYOB night on Mondays. 😊 My friends and I always share at least 8 different small plates and our total bill is very reasonable. My personal favorite is the empanadas. You cannot go wrong with those! Other amazing choices are the... More

The menu is small plates. I have enjoyed each and every small plate I've tasted over multiple visits. The menu changes and is sourced from local providers, so the food is fresh and tasty. Order the tres leches cake for dessert. You will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is festive and fun. The staff is friendly and laid back. I'd... More

Positive past reviews have been right one. The staff was friendly and attentive. The patio setting was an oasis of summer flowers, an evening fireplace aglow , and unique menu offerings. A seafood special from the Philipines was creatively constructed. The Columbian empenatas were served piping hot with a delicious sauce. The pork belly crepes were delicious and the butter... More

Had dinner here while traveling through Milwaukee. The menu has a variety of globally inspired small plates; it was hard to choose only a few as all of them sounded excellent. The goat cheese curds in a tomato cream sauce was one of our favorite dishes, along with the house-made pierogis. The ceviche and the bun thit nuong were good,... More

This restaurant is one of my favorites in Milwaukee. The menu does change but some items are a constant. The salads are always crisp and fresh and the desserts are to die for.
