A Step Back in Time

Ted's is a great place for ice cream, a burger, fries or breakfast. But what I like most is that it's not a pretentious place. Prices are great; you can actually afford to eat breakfast or lunch here, unlike some of the trendier places. Friday fish fries are very good too.

Who doesn't love Ted's??? It's been around since the '40s and is pretty original. Is the food gourmet? Not by a long shot. But it's very good, inexpensive and they have the best old-fashioned malts and best service anywhere.

Cute old school diner in Tosa. This place has the best breakfast special in town. Under $5 for 2 eggs, meat, hashbrowns and toast. You can't go wrong. Their milkshakes are amazing too! Kevin does a great job! Look for Lee'A behind the counter and sit on her side and she will take excellent care of you!

Got into Milwaukee early last Friday and googled 'diners in Milwaukee" - so glad that Ted's popped up. We went there twice in one weekend- loved sitting at the counters, the service was excellent and the breakfast plentiful and inexpensive- where can you get the breakfast special (2 eggs, hash browns, sausage patties or links, toast) for $4.85. All the... More

Walking through the front door is like walking through a time tunnel. Its an old time dinner with an old department store style counter. The food is all home cooked (except the corned beef hash). The service is among the friendliest in town. And the prices are more than reasonable. What a fun place to hang out with a friend... More

It had been a while since we were last at Ted's, so last week we stopped in for breakfast. The food was just your average diner food. I had an omelet. It was not well made. The cheese wasn't all melted, and the egg wasn't completely cooked. My wife's food was not bad, but nothing special. The place is still... More

Went to Ted's on a Saturday, hoping to have a late breakfast. While we were initially disappointed that they were no longer serving breakfast, we were not at all disappointed with the meal that we had. Grilled cheese with tomato and bacon that was excellent and the most wonderful deep fried cheese curds. We sat at the counter, service was... More

Ted's is very much an old fashioned diner or coffee shop. Most of the seating is at the counter. We've had many meals there and younger people (like grandchildren) love the atmosphere -- and the rotating stools. The food is good and a good value. If you order a malt, make sure to share it with someone--they're big.

Ted's is a place that serves up great food in a fun, 50's diner-like atmosphere. We usually go for Sunday brunch, but you need to be there before 12:45 pm when they stop serving on Sundays. They have the best hashbrowns, shakes and malts in town. It is a neighborhood restaurant also frequented by local politicians and sports figures. The... More
