Cuban Fare in Milwaukee - Who Knew!?!?

At the recommendation of a friend and local to Milwaukee, we met for lunch at Cubanitas. It's very casual and there is a bar area (and seats) and a couple outdoor tables when the weather accommodates. The menu is Cuban with classic chicken, pork and shrimp dishes to name a few. I went with the... read more

We were surprised to find this Cuban restaurant in the city. We sat outside on the sidewalk. The Coctel de Mariscos and Cuban Guac (which tastes just like normal guac) with Plantain Chips were the perfect lunch. We would go back

The tamal was the best thing we had. The empanada was not the best I have had. The black beans were bland. The Ropa Vieja was the Cuban take on Swiss steak. The Cubano sandwich was just ok. The service and hostess were very nice.

This is a nice but small restaurant. They serve great Cuban food. They don't have Happy Hour so don't ask if you go early. If you have a large party, I suggest you go early. They are known to do special events so if you want to reserve the restaurant for a company event, they do a great job accommodating... More

The service was great, although we were a large group, 15 people. The ordering process for drinks, appetizers and entrees went very well. The place gives you the sense of old time Cuba with the photos on the wall and music. The food was really good. I was impressed with my order of boliche and rice with black beans. I... More

One of my colleagues loves to come here when he's in town. Each time I am underwhelmed. You order as you walk in. There was a group waiting so it seemed crowded. We waited for our appetizer which didn't come. Our waitress was walking around with our meals to see who would claim them. We asked about our appetizer after... More

I stayed 3 nights in Milwaukee, ate there 2 times. As a Puertorican, i really like the "Arroz con Pollo" with some plantains. The Lechón asado was good but it needed more flavor. A very good place if you want a taste of "El Caribe".

My first visit to Cubanitas with friends who have been here numerous times. Vibrant, eclectic interior with the same vibe in the music. Definitely a great restaurant venue for diners or friends meeting for a drink. I do believe they offer valet parking as well. Restaurant is fairly spacious with room for quite a few diners.

Here I was in the mood for roast pork. I went there after a lecture. I was told the place had improve for ADA so I adventure over there. I looked at the step and I wasn't able to get into the restaurant. I was approached by a friend of the owner and his regret that they are not motorized... More
