Excellent Empanadas

Everyone talks about this place, so when I was in Milwaukee I had to go. The decor is gorgeous…love the high ceilings and bold colors. The pressed sandwich was super tasty. I also had black beans which unfortunately, were on the bland side. The plantain chips were excellent. The saltiness of the... read more

Went with the Pan con Bistec, which is a thinly sliced sirloin steak sandwich and Platanitos Maduros, which is Sweet Plantains. Arrived right before noon, and there was a small line. Overall, both were good, sandwiches are slightly overpriced for what you get. Also, rumor has it that the Mojitos are great. If you want to go here for lunch,... More

Cubanitas do plantain chips, guacamole, and mojitos better than anyone else. Worth the trip for those 3 things.

This will help you to decide; you are in a wheelchair To me don't waste your time because no ramp in front there is one large step to try to get in. You will have to use the dirty smelly door in the alley then you will have a hard time getting through the snow if snow is on the... More

I ordered the tilapia sandwich for $10 which consisted of two very small pieces on a enormous sub-type roll with tomatoes, lettuce and red pepper tartar sauce. I didn't eat it as a sandwich because I knew I wouldn't taste the fish amongst all the bread. I asked for another piece of fish and they said it would be $5.... More

Bland Cuban food, really? Relatively small place, right down town. Has great promise, but certainly did not meet it during my visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Three friends three different entrees, none all the great. Only been here once but the food was really average at best. With that said, I'd come in for a beer and... More

They have a very good Cuban sandwich here, but there is more on the menu to like. Love this cozy spot on Milwaukee street and like to come here, especially in the summer when they open the windows wide to the street with cafe seating on the sidewalk. I always order the Cuban guacamole and plantain chips. We had the... More

While the atmosphere is appealing when you walk into this small restaurant, not sure that I would go back. There are a variety of items on the menu. My husband had the cuban sandwich; he felt it was dry and it came on a plate without any sides. I had fish, it was very bland; The guacamole was good, the... More
