I give it a 2. One for being open on New Year's Day and one for charm. We sat at the diner counter/bar. The bloody mary was cold and made from tomato juice. It was barely average in flavor. I've had far better "housemade" bloodys for much less than the $7 this one cost. I ordered the "famous" corned beef... More

We had a classic diner breakfast this past weekend. The pancakes are divine and the skillets delicious. The servers are so friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend!

i had the corn beef hash griddle and my husband had the Miss Katie's griddle. Both were very hot and good. Not a fancy place. The servers are classic diner waitresses. It's kind of fun in that regard. Not a frou-frou place at all!!

A dying breed of restaurant. Classic decor & atmosphere in a setting left back in time. The food is great. It isn't a 5-star restaurant... it's an experience with great food at great prices. Very few places can match the value. If you are the adventurous type & like those obscure places that have character, this is a must visit... More

Your French toast will arrive, not with little porkies, but good-size Italian links that offer a zingy contrast to all the maple syrup that you like. Miss Katie’s is a bright, big-windowed place just off the freeway and at a corner of the Marquette University campus, so it’s a popular meeting place. You might see a President or First Lady... Miss Katie's is a Milwaukee staple, and is just a flat-out friendly, basic "mom n' pop". On the periphery of downtown Milwaukee, parking is free. The food is right out of the 1960's, and the prices and decor match that theme. The waitresses wear poodle skirts, and oldies play in the background. A good old-fashioned chocolate malt can still be... More

We visited the Pabst Mansion right across the street from Marquette and asked the tour guide where was a good place to eat for lunch, and she suggested Miss Katie's. We loved it. It was a good old-fashioned diner. The menu is overwhelming in its choices, and they offer breakfast all day. I had an omelet, and my husband had... More

We ate breakfast at Miss Katie's the day after being at visiting Summerfest. I had the spicy sausage omelette, which was large, packed full of sausage and cheese, and delicious. My only regret was that I only ordered 1 pancake. Wow! It was soooooo good, light and fluffy, with a wonderful taste. I would strongly recommend you don't do what... More

My group of 7 headed up the not-so-scenic route to Miss Katie's after encountering a one-hour wait at Sobelman's at midday on a Sunday. There was no wait at Miss Katie's, although I imagine it is different when school is in session. If you approach Miss Katie's from Marquette U., it is pretty and tree-lined. If you come from the...
