The night the lights went out

We were enjoying our Wisconsin cheese curds and a cold Louie's Demise, soaking up the brew pub ambience, when all of a sudden, a loud boom and no power. We soon found out a transformer had blown and all power was lost on our block and the next. And wouldn't be back on for maybe 3 hours. The staff... read more

You have to love a restaurant that offers brussels sprouts as a side dish option. And they were great, alongside a hummus wrap so generously sized I had to take half of it home. This place was very busy even on a Saturday afternoon at an off time, but service was still good. The river view was beautiful from the... More

The ale house was the right choice. I had a sampler of 6 different craft beers that the company brews just down the street and they were delicious. The dark porter was great. We then had lunch including a hummus wrap that was amazing and a hamburger that was well above average. We threw in some sweet potato fries and... More

Our first visit to this restaurant was awesome. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. Ordered the Hummus platter as an appetizer, best Hummus I ever ate! Ordered burgers with sides, seriously the most delicious Tater Tots on the planet. My daughter was also very impressed with the food she ordered - Vegetarian Burger and Onion Rings. The restaurant is... More

Right in the middle of the Historic Third Ward. The Ale House produces some very nice beers. The sandwiches were delicious and the service was very good. The restaurant also has outside seating along the river in nice weather.

Great location, delicious pretzel with dippiing beer cheese sauce! Loved the pistachio chicken salad and the views were great. This location is within walking distance to many downtown hotels. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.

So the inside is a great place. While it was cold when we were there we sat at a table near the river. Very nice. Service was very good/no complaints. The food was above ave but not great, the beer is better. I would return some day.

Even though it was a busy time to stop in, they took our reservation and had a table for seven waiting for us as we entered. It was bustling but the service was friendly and courteous. We had some adult beverages and some snacks only, as we were heading to a full dinner else where. The food was well prepared... More

I had gotten a Groupon , $15 dollars for $30 dollars of food and beverage. Which that in itself was a good deal. Sometimes the deal is for only food, not beverage. Google Groupons and see if the deal is still out there. The atmosphere was high energy at and around the bar, but if you want quiet, just asked... More

The best part of the ale house is the view. It is situated right on the river and is a hot spot for the summer because of the outdoor seating area. The food and the drinks are reasonably priced and pretty good.
