Our Friday evening in Milwaukee started with an enjoyable game watching the admirals play hockey our walk through town took us to a small cozy place called Maders. Really enjoyed the atmosphere friendly staff and great beer. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked they were closing for evening. Def would return

I loved the atmosphere in this restaurand and the food was fantastic! But I admit I was a little shocked at the prices. Overall, the food was fantastic. I had the Sauerbraten and Wienerschnitzel with Spatzle. Also tried the cheese spread. The pretzel bread was fantastic and so was the beer selection!

I will start by saying that I am not a big fan of German food. While visiting Milwaukee my husband wanted to have dinner at Mader's. I reluctantly agreed. I had the beef and mushroom strudel. It was outstanding!!!! I can't wait for our next visit so I can go back and have it again. Everything we had was wonderful.... More

A friend recommended this restaurant and we are so glad that we went here for dinner. Hearty German fare that satisfies! Order family style as the portions are large.

Not a high light of this fine German restaurant. No not, I repeat do not go there for s fish fry. Go yes, for great German food, but this is not one of there finer points. We went with another couple who had never been there & went based on the advertised Lenten Special. A mistake. The German potato was... More

My family and I recently ate at Mader's. My wife and her father had the pork shank. My mother-in-law had the rouladen and I had the Ritter Schnitzel. I tasted some from each of the different meals and they were all very good. The service was very good even though the restaurant was very crowded with a number of fencing... More

It's always a treat to visit. Excellent German food, great atmosphere and thoughtful service will make this a family tradition. Many excellent menu items but don't miss the sauerbraten.

My wife and I lived in Milwaukee for decades before moving away about 10 years ago. We always eat at Maders when we visit Milwaukee. Their Reinesche Sauerbraten is a special favorite of ours, and tastes as good as ever. It's reasonably priced ($15) at lunch, including complimentary soup, rolls, etc. Lunch prices are in effect until 4 PM Monday... More

Now you can get the Mader's famous pork shank in a red cabbage base (it used to only be available in a sauerkraut base), this new option of the pork shank is superb. The pork shank at Mader's was always delicious, this new option is extraordinary and makes it one of the best meals in Milwaukee.
