We chose Mader’s based on other reviews and it was walking distance from the Hyatt Regency hotel. Stepping into Mader’s is like you were teleported to Germany. You can just feel the history of this place as you enter. The restaurant is an eclectic mix of German décor, steins, antiques, beautiful stain glass, and pictures of famous people who have... More

We went here for lunch & our server was very knowledgeable. When I told her I liked Stouts, she told me a good German beer that was comparable. She really knew her entrees and desserts also. In authentic tradition, she did the little hand fold & small bow when she thanked us (like the VonTrapp children in the movie after... More

We stopped by Mader's Bar for a drink on a Friday. They have an excellent selection of German Beers. All were fresh. Excellent bar staff. Nice old world decor. The place had that cool laid back feeling, where you could have a good beer and a good conversation. I will stop by anytime I am in town.

We went for Friday fish fry and a beer, and the food was excellent. The potato pancakes as well as German potato salad were perfectly prepared! We'll be back for their filling Sunday brunch for sure!

If you eat here you will know why they have been in business for over 100 years. We happened upon Mader"s while walking around Milwaukee looking for a lunch place. There was a Sunday brunch special. $23 fir all you can eat with all kids for FREE! Huge variety of choices. Traditional German fare as well as an omelette bar... More

One of, if not the best German restaurant in the city of Milwaukee. Love their sauerkraut. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very old world Milwaukee, but the atmosphere outside the restaurant is definitely a busy downtown, especially during events at the nearby Bradley Center. Plan your visit accordingly.

This is one of the few places left that serves great genuine food along with a nice selection of authentic beer to compliment. Not to mention the bartender Britany and the rest of the staff was fantastic.

A German friend brought me along to help her celebrate her birthday. The atmosphere is of the Bavarian style of Germany with music, costumes and art. We dined on a Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4:30. It's not crowded at this time so we had opportunities to chat with the manager and waitress. My friend ordered the Potato Pancakes which came drizzled... More

This Bavarian style restaurant is justifiably a Milwaukee institution, The decor is very "old world." I wish I had been there when there were fewer people so I could have investigated all the displays that fill the walls. The service is quite good and the female wait staff are dressed in "traditional" Bavarian type outfits. I am a vegetarian and,... More
