Birthday Dinner

Great place for an event, in this instance my birthday. Don enjoyed his martini and glass of merlot. Excellent service, the food interesting and very tasty. Not bland as someone said. I have been going to this place since 1970 when I still lived in Milwaukee. My wife and I split a spinach and cheese burek, my usual order. It’s become heavier on the cheese over the years, which is a Serbian style feta that tastes like nothing else you’ve ever tasted. I disagree with other reviewers who think the food... More

I meet with a nurse friend for dinner once a month and tonight "Three Brothers" restaurant in Bay View was where we met for dinner. For starters, the restaurant has been operating at this site since 1954, from what I understand of its history. The building was built in 1897 and is on the National Register of Historical Sites. The... More

Great little Serbian restaurant in the Bay View area; we live 40 miles from here but put this on our list at least once a year. Like to visit in winter, as soon as you enter you can smell the great food being prepared in the kitchen. On a Saturday, need reservations, and bring cash or check, no plastic here.... More

My three friends and I had dinner at the Three Brothers on the Friday night after Christmas. The food was very good, in moderately-sized portions, but it took a long time to cook. Two of us had the pork dinner, marinated with white wine and mustard. The pork was wonderful, but the accompanying sour kraut and steamed carrots were ordinary.... More

For a treat of old Europe/Serbia, this is the place! Milwaukee has lots of hidden gems, from attractions to restaurants, and this is one of them on both accords! Located in a vintage Schlitz Beer Hall, this restaurant is family run with recipes straight from their relatives' cookbooks! Yes, order a Burek right away, as this delicate meat pastry delight... This was the most cramped I've ever been in a restaurant. The space is extremely small and the configuration of the tables make it hard to fit under them. The food takes a long time to cook, so you can't be in a hurry. When the food did arrive, it was very good and in large portions.

We went to Three Brothers for my son's 25 birthday. My kids go to Marquette and we always try something new and different. My daughter got there first and the place was empty and she thought we were crazy! We got there a few minutes later and immediately ordered the Burek and my daughter was still skeptical. The service was... More

It has been many years since we dined at Three Brothers. But, nothing has changed. And that is part of the beauty of this experience. The service is slow. The food preparation is slow. But the reward is great provided you have the patience required to move out of "fast food" mode. Located in a historic building that is alone... More

Three Brothers is located in a quiet, non-commercialized part of Milwaukee. The restaurant resides in a building that is like a family residence, in other words, the building does not in any way resemble a warehouse, as is the case for many other restaurants. Another great aspect of Three Brothers, is that there are no television sets, e.g., tuned to... More
