Very good food but not a great dining experience

My three friends and I had dinner at the Three Brothers on the Friday night after Christmas. The food was very good, in moderately-sized portions, but it took a long time to cook. Two of us had the pork dinner, marinated with white wine and mustard. The pork was wonderful, but the accompanying... read more

For a treat of old Europe/Serbia, this is the place! Milwaukee has lots of hidden gems, from attractions to restaurants, and this is one of them on both accords! Located in a vintage Schlitz Beer Hall, this restaurant is family run with recipes straight from their relatives' cookbooks! Yes, order a Burek right away, as this delicate meat pastry delight... This was the most cramped I've ever been in a restaurant. The space is extremely small and the configuration of the tables make it hard to fit under them. The food takes a long time to cook, so you can't be in a hurry. When the food did arrive, it was very good and in large portions.

We went to Three Brothers for my son's 25 birthday. My kids go to Marquette and we always try something new and different. My daughter got there first and the place was empty and she thought we were crazy! We got there a few minutes later and immediately ordered the Burek and my daughter was still skeptical. The service was... More

It has been many years since we dined at Three Brothers. But, nothing has changed. And that is part of the beauty of this experience. The service is slow. The food preparation is slow. But the reward is great provided you have the patience required to move out of "fast food" mode. Located in a historic building that is alone... More

Three Brothers is located in a quiet, non-commercialized part of Milwaukee. The restaurant resides in a building that is like a family residence, in other words, the building does not in any way resemble a warehouse, as is the case for many other restaurants. Another great aspect of Three Brothers, is that there are no television sets, e.g., tuned to... More

We walk in and the place is almost empty and we had to wait 10 minutes to get a drink order in as one server who was standing there was "in training" mode only. So, we had to wait for the one harried server to just get our drink order in and once that minor hiccup was over things were... More

OK, so I'm not Serbian, but I left thinking this place is the real deal. It's a neighborhood place, but not hard to find. The menu sure looks authentic. We had never heard of burek before, but my husband ordered it because it was the house specialty. It is made to order, and it does take upwards of an hour... More

Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. The burek is a must. It takes 45-60 minutes to make you can call ahead so they can start it early but for sure worth the wait. I got the goulash and the meat melted in my mouth. Meals are $20-40 a little pricey for me but so happy I... More

My wife and I just had dinner at Three Brothers and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun to try a new type of cuisine, and everything we had was very well done. I had a cheese and spinach burek, and it was great. It was hot, fresh, tasty and huge. I stuffed myself and could only finish half, but I'm... More
