Always first class food and service

One of our favorite places for a nice, relaxed dining expereince. The menu is somewhat limited and hasn't changed in the past several years but their monthly tour menu makes up for that. We typically try the travel menu - some have been better than others. This month it's Mexican. The main course... read more

Previous visits were fine, couldnt have asked for better. This time was a fail. How hard is it to offer a medium burger with crisp slaw and icy cold firm sorbet? Impossible apparently. Everything was "off": the meat was cold and red inside, the slaw was from some previous day and was watery and limp. Sorbet was served in a... More

I loved this stylish restaurant in Milwaukee, just on the edge of the neat Third Ward area. Food was terrific. I enjoyed a steak as good as any I've had in Paris and oefs a la neige was a rare treat for dessert. Nice wine list and great atmosphere. Service was attentive and professional, yet warm. Go!

The wait staff are fantastic! some of the best service I've had. And the setting is delightful The beet salad was excellent but the rest was a huge disappointment. The trout was swimming in a brown butter sauce that was acidic and had an almost burnt like taste. I picked the trout meat out and it was edible but not... More

Coquette has great interior that reminds a person of old world elegance without having tables pushed cheek to jowl like a European restaurant. You can have a conversation with your dinner companion without listening to or having the next table listen to your conversation. The service is brisk and professional but not smothering. The waiters wear long aprons like a... More

The food, service, and value were very close to excellent. I am very particular on giving an excellent rating and they were very close. My main fault is the use of salt and the soup du jour was not too imaginative. The soup initially reminded me of Campbell's bean and then it did open up. The trout was really good... More

I was part of a Food Tour and we ate dessert here. The dessert was great and the coffee exceptional. The owner came to the table and told us the history of the building. I would love to have an entire meal here!!

This was my first visit here under the new ownership. We started with the cheese platter and champagne which was excellent. I had the beet salad and shared it. Very good. Our waiter was professional, friendly and efficient! But, unfortunately, the main courses were only average. My roasted chicken was okay but they put on some type of barbeque sauce... More

We were going to MKE to hear the MSO and meet with some friends. They wanted to eat French; I"ve never done that. So I contacted a local buddy of mine who recommended Cafe Coquette. It is close to down town; it has lots of parking. It is both large and intimate; the staff was extremely helpful and the food... More

Even though the ownership has changed, the food is till excellent. They aim to please. I ordered a beet salad with outstanding rare salmon with dressing on the side. It arrived exactly as requested. my husband enjoyed a meal from his youth with the veal goulash.
