Nice atmosphere. Quaint and comfortable. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Huevos Ranchero was to die for! Lots of nice gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options that taste really good. Nice use of herbs and seasonings.

Great hip spot for breakfast. Efficient staff, Anodyne coffee which is fabulous. Daily Specials and they serve a close to authentic English breakfast. Down side is limited seating and wobbly tables. We were there ln a Sunday- busy brunch time

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Located in Walker's Point on National Ave, parking is easy on a Sunday morning. The place is small and can get packed. The food quality is very good and the cost reasonable. I like the atmosphere, which is part hobo, low key local sustainability - if there is such a thing!

This is a fun cafe with a great, varied menu! Delicious sandwiches are made with excellent breads, including gluten-free breads. The Key Lime Pie was tart and yummy! We will be back!

Although this little cafe has been open 5 years, I never noticed it before, but I will be back. Ordering is done at the counter, and your completed salads, sandwiches, home made chips, and drinks are brought to the table. Lunchtime on a week day was surprisingly busy, but tables turned over quickly. Artisan bread and veggie sandwich were terrific... More

My daughter (15) and I dined at The National for our first time yesterday for a Sunday breakfast, and we were wowed! Chef Nell and her staff are amazing - the menu screems imagination and originality, and the executioin is flawless! I admired Nell's work at Thirst & Vine in Shorewood, and now thank my lucky stars that my palate... More

We stopped on Saturday afternoon. The decor was artsy local cafe. The food was, to put it simply, amazing! I had the ahi tuna sandwich. My wife had the french toast-wich. Both were an explosion of flavor in small package. Both were well presented with cut fruit. The place is a bit pricey; we got out of there with $25... More

I've always loved going to the National; I've never had a bad experience there, or even a mediocre one. Most of the menu can be made vegan - BONUS! Great Chai Tea, and really nice assortment of handmade items on sale by local artists. I usually go there for brunch and find the place moderately filled, so we can always... More
