We were in town for a conference. Eight of us were seated in a banquet-like table. A friend promised good food, and that was true--all small, tapas-like appetizers were very good. For a group of 8, however, we had to order too many, since the portions were REALLY small. I enjoyed my main dish (chicken), but a couple of others... More

I went with my parents to Braise this past Saturday night and had an awesome time. We tried a couple other places first, both were swamped and taught us that we really need to get serious about making reservations in advance. Anyway, my parents luckily remembered Braise - they'd been once, I never had. We were sat at the bar... More

I had their chicken and it was fabulous. Another person in our party had the rainbow trout and raved about it.

Love love love that they source their items locally. Sad sad sad that we were not enthralled by the food as we have been looking forward to eating here for AGES. My hubby and I tried two of their signature cocktails. His tasted like a wine cooler with seltzer. Mine was much better with a gentle bitters touch. The menu... More

My family makes it an annual event to come to Milwaukee and eat at Braise. The food is always delightful, surprising and satisfying. The local cheese platter is the perfect way to start a great evening there. And it only gets better after that...

It's not often you walk away from an excellent meal feeling less than satisfied, but that's my conclusion about Braise. Braise offers a unique and eclectic menu. Mix and/or match on small plates and appetizers. Limited choice(5 or 6) entrees. Many ingredients are home or locally grown/raised. My spouse and I sampled scallion cracker and trout parfait appetizers along with... More

We recently ate here prior to a symphony performance to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were seated on the rooftop, which was a great setting among the greens that the restaurant was growing. We had the parmesan custard w/morels, the humba, pork buns, and seared trout. Each of our plates was delicious, with a nice combination of flavors. Our craft... More

They were a little late in seating us, but made it up to us with a complementary appetizer, but otherwise no problems at all with service. Most of the staff we talked to have been with the restaurant since it opened and their knowledge showed. The communal seating was a surprise, but they do leave anough elbow room between parties... The bar has a decent ambience, but the service was a bit slow and it offered no gins of any known name. I gambled on a classic martini, and lost $11.00. One of the four "small bites" (appetizers) was excellent, one was very good. The "big bite" (entre) I ordered was Trout. It came as thinly sliced pieces with rice... More

We enjoyed a three cheese platter with an apricot ginger jam-great variety of flavor and jam added to the appetizer. I selected the chicken dish on sweet potato and my colleague enjoyed the fish dinner, the entrees were amazing: great flavor, good portion and wonderful presentation. The vanilla bean latte was a dessert in itself!!!! The seating area is open... More
