My friend is a vegan and so is their lunch buffet. I'd never had Ethiopian food before. There were plenty of choices and the food was tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to try something new

I've been going here for years and actually started my Ethiopian eating experience in Alem Ethiopian Village... I've been addicted ever since! I have gone to both coasts in the US and this place trumps all of the other Ethiopian food I've had. The business is family owned and they are all wonderful, friendly people, who truly care about the... More

What a wonderful restaurant! The interior promises a unique experience immediately, and the food does not let you down. The flavors are unique and delicious and will leave you ready for more, and the waitress was very friendly and patient with us as she explained Ethiopian cuisine to us. I can't wait to go back!

Not much to complain about with this restaurant. The food was good and unique. There were eight of so offerings on the buffet, and that variety was appreciated. The one lone staff member who was working the day I went in was very friendly, willing to assist and answer questions. My only complaint was the bathrooms. They needed some attention.... More

Delicious food. Very courteous staff. Beautiful ambience. A huge collection of delectable platter for vegetarians. Reasonably priced. Guess all the reasons are set to go have fun at Alem!

What a gem. Our visit wasn't planed. We were looking for a good coffee. Starbucks was next door but closed. My friend pointed at Alem Ethiopian Village. We liked the entrance and decided to explore interior which was very pleasant and colorful . The service was very good, lovely, young waitress had a lot of patience to describe the dishes.... More

Our group enjoyed the many spices and flavors of Ethiopian food at this downtown restaurant. Played mancala and waited for our food, delivered with a beautiful smile. The teenagers liked scooping our lamb, chicken and veggies up with the bread, instead of silverware. One 2 person combo meal was enough for the 4 of us for lunch.

The dishes on this buffet were absolutely delicious. Many complex layers of flavors such as the yellow pea dish that went from rich to sweet to hot as it was eaten. Some of the dishes were unexpected and have become new favorites such as the cold lentils and the green chile relish. The injera, the sourdough flat bread, that accompanies... More

I like this restaurant because it's nice interesting traditional foods, they encourage to eat the way people normally takes food in African village - as a group. The spice level is just perfect and the combos you can order - lentil, chicken etc are of different taste to suits everyone's taste bud. There are many veggie options too. The inside... More
