Comfort food at its finest

I was looking forward to eating here after hearing so many people say how good it is. The place seems to always be busy, which would normally be a good sign but instead just meant extremely slow and inaccurate service. It does appear to be a local favorite, but I can't figure out why.

It's hard to find fault with this neighborhood favorite, except that it's so popular, expect a wait during peak dining hours. Like a traditional diner, Hubbard Avenue Diner has a large and varied menu. The difference is everything is fresh, many things made from scratch. Although they're known for their pies (don't pass up on them!), their soups are a... More

The restaurant is overpriced and does not have original food options. Three stars are the result of good pies and close to home.

This place is a classic. Great food, great service, and wide variety of selections. The frosted cookies are one of my favorite, along with the mac 'n cheese.

I was excited to go as I heard so many good things. I ordered the chicken dumpling soup and couldn't eat it. The dumplings were very small and rubbery. The soup itself was so full if garlic. Who could imagining that soup at a diner would be so bad! Husband had quesadilla and it was average at best. I had... More

Go here for coffee and pie in the afternoon to rest your feet. Very cute 50's type diner. The shakes and sundaes look good too.

One of my favorite, go to places. Consistently good food. Good selection - something for everyone. One of my favorites is the grilled salmon. Try it, you'll like it.

We've been regulars at the diner since it opened. If you're looking for good comfort food, it's the place to get a meal quickly and without the high cost of many local places. It also provides a choice of salads, wraps, a few veggie options and a good burger. My only wish is that you could get breakfast all day.

. . . if you can get a table. Went to this fun, retro, diner style place on a quiet October Thursday slightly before noon. Before we left, there was a wait for tables. The food is good, but nothing remarkable. There is a wide selection, with something to suit every taste other than for the exotic--burgers, soup, nice salads.... More
