It was 1974 when our country had its first gas crisis. The price of gasoline was skyrocketing, gas stations were closing nationwide, and carmakers began exploring how to develop cars that got better mileage. But for George "Jig" Warren III and Gary "Moe" Meszaros, it wasn't about better mileage or for that matter even obeying the new 55 M.P.H speed limit. It was about finding a home to preserve the culture of those old gas stations and high-powered muscle cars. So was born Quaker Steak & Lube(R), a "Cook Your Own Steak" restaurant that gave old muscle cars a permanent home, which included a 1936 Chevrolet, frozen in time on the original hydraulic grease rack. It is from these beginnings that the Quaker Steak & Lube(R) family of restaurants began. Today, "The Lube(R)" serves over 80 million wings annually, has bottled sauces for retail sale, has won the title of "Best Wings USA," and has hundreds of local, national, and international awards for their sauce recipes. Over 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada, "The Lube(R)" is still rescuing muscle cars, vintage cars, trucks and a vast selection of custom and antique motorcycles, giving them good homes hanging from the walls and ceilings in each restaurant.

Fun for the Family

Greaes. Known for their wings but they have a great variety of other choices. I think their wings are better then Buffalo Wild Wings. They are larger and have more sauce on them They are sold by weight instead of quantity.

We stopped when we were in Madison area Friday evening. The service was great, server's name was Steve, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wings were great as always. Love to stop by when in the area.

We all met for a meal and as usual were extremely pleased. As you guessed, anyone interested in cars or racing will be in heaven in this restaurant. That's just the start, because the food is as fantastic as the surroundings and service. Bring your favorite gear head and watch her or his eyes bug out when they're there. It's... More

It's an OK place. Food and service are decent. If you need heart healthy food, it is not the place for you.

Have been there before, fun place to go the first couple of times. The service wasn't very good and I have had much better food.Very hard to talk with friends as it is quite loud. Don't care if I ever go back.

This was our first visit here and we arrived with our two children around 430 in the afternoon on a Sunday and were told they were in the middle of changing from lunch to dinner and due to this they didn't have as many servers on?? So we would need to wait to be seated, this was doubly odd because... More

I'm not one to bash a restaurant but our experience here was absolutely horrible. The restaurant portion was nearly empty yet it took over 30 minutes to seat us. We had just come off the polar express train so we realize there must have been a miscalculation on their part of how many people were going to be at the... More

Stopped in for a quick bite on our way to the hotel. Hot Wing Aficionados will know this place well. Lots of available sauces. Only way they could improve is by having larger wings. These seemed smaller than a lot of other wing places we have visited. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Placed On-Line order tonight. Was given pick up time of 5:20 pm. Arrived at 5:20 and waited for another 20 minutes at the drive -up window because the order wasn't ready. Finally received the order and made a four minute drive home. My order was half rack of ribs and wings combo. Unfortunately, the wings were excluded from the package.... More

There are only a few places to get good wings and Quaker Steak is one of them. Not only is the theme of the place great with all the cars and bikes hanging from the walls and ceiling so are the wings. My favorite are the Chipotle Dusted wings. They also have lots of other flavors to add to your... More
