Nostalgic Step Back in Time

What a gem of a place! Great setting in Manitowoc. We had ice cream and it was very good. Interior was well done as were the displays. We had dinner elsewhere and the waitress at the other place said we had to go here for dessert. We agree.

I have a feeling that if you'd walked in the front door 50 years ago that this place would look identical to what you see today. It's a beautiful example of how things used to be! And there's a good reason why they've survived so long--their products are largely home/hand-made and of high quality. I had a scoop of their... More

We visit here every time we're back in Manitowoc. They tons of options for ice cream and their food is really good, I love their soups. Don't forget to get some handmade chocolates before you leave.

Stopped here after lunch at Ryan's on York St., (which was amazing), and got our dessert on as a family. Awesome old-fashioned candy and ice cream parlor that is a must if your looking for dessert or some chocolates for taking home. Just know that buying for someone else usually ends up in buying for yourself. Ice cream was as... More

All the chocolate looks fantastic, too, and there is actually also real food and breakfast here. But we only had space for ice cream ... And we loved the triple chocolate brownie and the black raspberry!

We had some ice cream as a snack and also got a few of the chocolate treats as well. The ice cream was good and the chocolate was better. I got a malt that tasted very good and my wife's sundae must have been good as it was gone about as fast as possible. Overall this was a great treat... More

Beerntsen's has always been an old fashion ice cream parlor. I'm 67 years old now but I remember going to Beerntsen's as a kid. There products were always home made and fresh. The ice cream was out of this world, Candies were made from all quality products, and the caramel corn was to die for. I know things change with... More

Stopped here for ice cream on busy Sunday afternoon. Place was crowded but there was one table for us to sit. Eventually someone took our orders and later brought ice cream. Mine was delicious! They do have a broad selection of ice cream that looked tasty. Paying the bill was unnecessarily complicated, but eventually it was done. Good value overall.
