Interesting Place Hidden in the Trees

Having passed this place hundreds of times over the past 15 years on our way to our vacation home further north, we finally discovered what this establishment actually is. A must see, if you are up the the Northwoods. Beautifully preserved lodge & restaurant. Outstanding food! Home made pie. Exquisite sandwiches: hot ham & cheese, egg salad. Also, ice cream treats in an old lunch counter/soda fountain setting. Just relax & enjoy -- it's one of those truly special places!

July 4th dinner for 3 got in without a reservation. One of the best things about this location is the lodge and grounds. The restaurant is quaint with a good variety of items on the menu. The down side is that there are no appetizers offered, just your soup or salad and entrée. The filet with rice pilaf was cooked... More

We were taken here by friends who have a cottage close by. The place is a piece of history. On a cold,, rainy evening, there was a roaring fire in the fireplace in the spacious lobby. We were promptly seated and the service was excellent, despite what I overheard someone saying about them being down a server that evening. Two... More

Voss's is a piece of history that makes a trip to Voss's a good northwoods destination. Most interesting are the many photo albums you may look through from the 20's and before. Ruth Voss and family have a colorful history. Ruth's mom (deceased) was very familiar with members of the Dillinger gang and Ruth knows everything about the history of... More

Beautiful old lodge restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Food is fabulous. Service is impeccable. The family that we brought with us were impressed by the whole evening. You won't be disappointed.

We used to love Voss' until we noticed over the last two years, the service and food have declined. Our latest visit was just that - our last. The waitstaff is too overwhelmed to handle the volume of business. The atmosphere is still charming as is the scenery, However, the exceptional soup and steaks are no longer that. Even breakfast...
