visited with my family, although on approach is somewhere where you think would be home to a builders cafe, upon entering you are transported to a different era. Staff are friendly and accommodating the food was excellent. The big plus was the portions as I love to go where I feel I'm getting the portions I pay for and this... More

We have visited the diner several times after being recommended by a friend. We always love our visits and find the atmosphere very authentic and defiantly something a bit different. They also play American music which adds to the feel of it. The portions are always served really quickly and are absolutely HUGE. If you have a big appetite (like... More

Firstly in the Derby area I do not rate any of the 'American diners' such as Ed's or ok diner, they were very disappointing! so after quick search for any others found this, about 30 mins from us. It was definitely worth the drive and effort to go. Service was good and speedy even though was busy. Yes it is... More

Firstly its in a odd location, and not very welcoming, however look beyond that and inside its proper retro. Even down to the drinks, there are all sorts of things you won't have seen for years. The food is extensive and big. Forget small portions its big, all big! The burgers we had were tasty, hot and its all open... More

I've driven past this place hundreds of times, but it being on the edge of a tatty looking industrial estate I'd written it off as being a bit of a dump, but having heard some good reviews (and having heard it has a 5* environmental health report) I thought we'd take the chance and give it a go - I... First of all, to all that left bad reviews, your not fooling anyone. The American Diner is a hidden Gem and brilliant for what it is. It's great value for money and oozes character. Such a nice refreshing feeling to eat at the diner than a chain restaurant. We aren't talking about a Marco Pierre restaurant or a 5 star... More

The owners really do enjoy Americana and have somehow managed to get an authentic 50's diner from the states. The place is fantastic and always has a cheery atmosphere. The staff wear the clothes from the era and music adds to the vibe. Huge plate loads of food are brought to you and it all taste excellent. I would think... More

Came here the other week for the first time after living in the area for over 2 years! The diner is in a carpark so surroundings have some to be desired (and a bit drafty inside), but once inside you are transported back to 1950's USA with all the right decor and waitresses dressed up. The food is Ok, patty... More

I went here today with my boyfriend and his family and I am absolutely amazed. We walked in and were greeted politely with staff dressed in 50's outfits. We were then showed to our table where we looked at the menu's which had a wide variety of choice from hot dogs, to burgers each with unique names of 50's stars,... More
