The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant is in the historic downtown of La Crosse. A fun place for lunch or dinner.

I can't believe this restaurant is still open. Not one thing went right from when we walked in the door. An american girl greeted us and I immediately, and I shared my desire for a Hibachi table, her response was the table are reserved for larger groups so we need to sit in the awkward front bar area or a... Visited our daughter in college and took her here. The food was good. The prices were what you'd expect for sushi. The service was terrific. Contrary to one of the other reviews, this place seats way more than 12. It's a pretty big restaurant. Perhaps they moved or expanded since that review was written. They have a bar area in... More

First of all the menu on tripadvisor is a little outdated. Their actual menu has been updated. I found the prices higher than I'm used to while portions smaller than average. I wasn't impressed by the quality of the sushi and they also had a minimum spend of $15 for credit card.

Appetizers, drinks, and sushi were great. Good quality options for a 'little' restaurant in downtown La Crosse. I have had sushi at multiple restaurants in multiple cities, large and small, and Sushi Pirate definitely doesn't lack quality. My only qualms are small ones but qualms nonetheless. We last ate there on Valentine's Day so we expected it to be busy... More

This restaurant seats 12 at the most, but worth the wait. Great food! Fresh fish and nice presentation! The wait staff were very pleasant.

Really enjoyed the sushi I had tonight. I had the Sushi Regular. It consisted of 7 pieces (chefs choice) and 1 California Roll. All was fresh and tasty. I also had miso soup which I liked as well. My wife had Chicken Teriyaki. She said it was good. She does not eat sushi. I will return again soon. Staff very... More

La Crosse, WI isn't generally the kind of place you'd expect to find sushi outside of pre-made grocery store stuff, but this place is quite good. Recommend to anyone looking for decent sushi.
