As locals we have committed the serious flaw of only having attended this superb restaurant twice, both for special occasions. This a restaurant worthy of being a destination, a French-theme facility in a wonderfully restored 19th century Gothic revival mansion in the heart of town. The surroundings are Victorian elegant, the attention and service are friendly and comfortable, but most... More

This French style restaurant was simply outstanding .Owned by a husband/wife couple where he is the chef and she is the sommelier. My wife had a Blue Marlin appetizer paired with a nice French Rose, while I had summer truffles paired on toast with a Pinot Noir from the Langudauc area of France. Delicious and expertly paired. Our main courses... More

En route from Chicago to Mpls, we decided we were too tired to make the journey late into the night. We decided to stop halfway and do scenic river route the following day. We chose La Crosse. A quick check of Trip Advisor lead us to LeChateau for dinner. We were astounded! The restaurant is housed in a historic home... More

The interior of this beautiful restaurant immediately makes you feel that you are in for special treatment and a special meal. The decor is elaborate and at the same time very tasteful. We were greeted and seated by smiling staff who seemed genuinely happy to welcome us. The menu and wine selections are excellent. Menu items are described very well... More

Like so many other places I've been, I chose Le Chateau based on the TripAdvisor reviews. My wife and I arrived at 5:30 PM (30 minutes earlier than our reservation) on Tuesday night and were the first guests. From the outside this is a lovely, well maintained old building. Once we pulled open the heavy wooden door, the adventure began.... More

This is fine dining. Excellent service, food and wine. It's not cheap but very high quality which makes it worth it. Surprising La Crosse has something other than the standard steak places. The history of the home is unique. The food changes with the seasons. I have been here more than once and have enjoyed every time. it is a... More

It's amazing to find a restaurant of this caliber in LaCrosse. The food is outstanding, to say the least. Eva is an exceptional hostess/owner: friendly, helpful, and a wonderful sommelier. Order anything on the menu and Chef (and owner) Tim will make it a meal to remember. He is very willing to personalize any dish for the customer. If the... More

For my money, this is the best French restaurant between New York and California. Wonderful in every way, elegant but not pretentious. A great addition to La Crosse.

I would put this restaurant on par with French restaurants in much larger cities. The building is so beautiful and every option on the menu has been carefully planned. The food is always very interesting and delicious. We almost enjoy the wine list and Eva's knowledge of wines as much as the food. I cannot wait for my next trip... More
