I don't know what they put in their cookies, but I HAVE to get one every time I go. Great coffee and tea selection, fabulous savory crepes and chili.

Let me start off with the fact that I do not have enough great things to say about this place! The atmosphere, the service, the coffee, the food! It is all well above par! Organic milk for the coffee drinks?! Yes please! The food is beyond tasty and so is the coffee. Friendly staff and great experience! Will certainly be... More

This was a regular spot for me when I lived in La Crosse. It has great food, and delicious coffee. They also serve a small selection of beer. They have open mic night, which is great to listen to different performers that bring an amazing variety, from poetry, violin, hip hop, acapella, freestyle, drums, all sorts of music performances, but... Delicious savory or sweet crepes. I'd recommend the Baby Blue and the Berries & Cream. Your taste buds will thank you. I've also had their chili, and it was a tad spicy for me (but I'm a wimp when it comes to spice). Their hummus appetizer is also really good. AND they have reeeeeally good coffee. Their menu is all... More

I enjoyed my stop at the Root Note last year. They had some fun beers as well as unique food. I enjoyed a dessert as I had already ate. The staff was friendly.

Nice little coffee house with very good savory or sweet crepes. Nice selection of microbrews. Free trivia on a weeknight, Tuesday I think? Popular spot, friendly crowd and good food. I'd return.

I had the crimini thyme crepe topped with a fried egg and greens. Having never had a savory crepe, I was a bit skeptical but was pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavor combination and the subtle thyme. Kids had banana Nutella crepes, which they loved, of course. Good prices, too!

At the Root Note it takes a while to get your food or drink, which is okay. This gives you time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The menu is perfect for a light lunch or early breakfast. The coffee is roasted by Kickapoo, which is an excellent coffee roaster which is local to the region. The espresso is great,... More

Once a year during the holidays we stay in this area while visiting family. We make sure to stop by for the excellent crepes and a steamy mug of coffee. The menu is concise but solid. The vibe is laid back and relaxed. We we fortunate to catch an acoustic performance of folk musicians while we visited with family and... More
