The freight house is a very nice restaurant I love the food it is excellent but pricey. The atmosphere is also really nice. The only negative I can give is that Diggers Sting down the street is better and less expensive.

My wife and I joined two other couples for our semi-annual trek to Lacrosse for dinner at this classic downtown restaurant. Our waiter was an experienced young man who kept on top of all of our needs. He was helpful in pairing the sides with the steaks or crab legs we enjoyed. The loaded baked potato paired nicely with sun-dried... More

Had the opportunity to have dinner at the Freighthouse and we were as impressed as ever! They have the best crab legs and I would recommend sharing a full order with a friend. You pay $7 extra and then both people get salad bar and a side. I recommend the baked potato (and ask for the butter, sour cream, bacon,... More

The prime rib my husband ordered was a huge piece of meat. He ordered the 11 oz, but it was very good. Would have liked it to come with au jus, but still had great flavor. I ordered the halibut, even though their specialty is the swordfish. I like flakier fish though. I ordered it blackened with some lemon and... More

Perhaps not quite as good as the past, but that's a high bar for any restaurant. Outstanding Prime Rib and the best King Crab Legs you'll find anywhere. Knowledgable, experienced servers. Mediocre wine list.

We went there as a group for the $3 burgers. Our waitress, Alexa, was very disorganized. We told her we were ready to order our food. She decided she would bring another round of drinks. My husband and I did not even order another drink but got one. Then she had to clear the used glasses. Finally she took our... More

We dine here about once a month when we are here and the quality is consistently good, the ambiance is wonderful and the staff is great. Salad bar is great with lots of choices and the cuts of meat are excellent. It's good basic steakhouse food and nice fresh seafood. In the autumn the seasonal veg is acorn squash served... More

We took the train to La Crosse and needed somewhere to eat dinner close by the Radisson. We had no car and our 3 & 5 year old grand kids with us. They let me split a meal with the 2 little ones since they don't have a kids menu. They let them each have the salad bar too. My... More
