Garage plate

I have been going to Frank's Diner since the first day I moved to Kenosha. Everyone I take there loves it. Although the pancakes and french toast are awesome, the garbage plate is my go to dish.

I learned of Frank's by doing a Google search when I was up in Kenosha. It's really a great diner that's probably easily overlooked as a dive, though I've learned they were on TV so maybe people know not to underestimate it. The staff run a tight ship. It's well organized, super efficient and piping hot when it arrives. I... More

My friend likes to check out Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Today we ate at Frank's. What a hoot! I couldn't believe it when we drove up. It surely doesn't look like any "special place" from the outside. We got there about 1:15 and they close at 1:30, but we were assured that anyone inside before 1:30 would get served. I... More

My son saw this diner on D, D, and Dives and has been wanting to go there for a few years. We finally decided to do it. We got there and I thought the place was closed. It looked dark inside and there weren't many cars around. We opened the door and the place was hopping! We had to wait... More

We stopped here on a recommendation before a work meeting one morning. It is inside of an old train car, complete with sliding front door. There is a counter in front of the kitchen or tables for couples and small groups. The food is very good but if you are there during normal meal times, it may take awhile. As... More

Very cute atmosphere, a step back in time. The food was good, and much more than enough to feed you. But the prices were alittle high. It cost just shy of $25.00 for two of us for breakfast. I'm sure the host was meant to be kidding, but his brashness became trying. Definitely get there right when they open.

Want food fast or value personal body space? Have small kids who will melt down if they don't get food within 5 minutes of sitting down? Find another place to go. But for those who are patient and hungry a most unique dining experience! Frank's is an old train car converted to a 1950's diner - in fact most of... More

We went for breakfast on a busy Friday morning and sat at the only available seats- at the bar. The kids had a great view of the meals being made and we got to chat with the waitresses- who are a hoot. There was a shot of tequilla at 10 o'clock and we ordered mimosas- which were the size of... LOVE Franks! Great breakfasts, even simple things like eggs bacon toast and hash browns are heavenly. The pancakes are wonderful - but huge, just order one or two! Also love the french toast made on homemade bread or homemade cinnamin rolls. The place is also charming inside. But there isn't tons of seating, so try to come not during peak... More

Happened upon this place on the Food Network website as we were passing through Kenosha. What a find! The garbage plate was their claim to fame and now I know why! Yum! A ton of food! Go hungry to this teeny little rail car diner but don't watch them prepare the food too closely. Perhaps they ran out of hairnets... More
