Eccentric diner with wonderful food

I try to eat here every time I am back in Kenosha visiting family. The food is terrific, especially the garbage plates. I know that sounds disgusting, but they are basically delicious versions of scrambled eggs packed with pretty much anything you want. And they are very carefully prepared and... read more

I try to eat here every time I am back in Kenosha visiting family. The food is terrific, especially the garbage plates. I know that sounds disgusting, but they are basically delicious versions of scrambled eggs packed with pretty much anything you want. And they are very carefully prepared and not at all greasy. Unless you are a BIG eater,... More

On a road trip to Milwaukee we decided to stop off at this place for breakfast. One of the best decisions ever!! It was a definite throwback. We got there around 10 and left around noon. We had to wait about a half an hour to cozy up to the counter. The wait for our food was about an hour... More

I have lived in Kenosha for years and have been to Franks diner several time and not only do they serve a fantastic breakfast but the history behind the restaurant is a good read that you will find on their menu. They do serve more than breakfast but my favorite meal out is always breakfast and I love to get... More

Stopped by for lunch since we heard this place was featured on a cooking network show. Clearly it was nothing like how it was on TV. It was lined with tiny barstools and 6 booths. There was mad chaos. The cooks were yelling at each other, they were running out of items, the empty barstools had dirty plates just sitting... More

My husband & I took a day trip to visit the Civil War Museum and Frank's Diner was recommended by my brother-in-law. We were fortunate that a table opened up just as we arrived because the place was packed. This is not a place to stop if you are in a rush but we passed the time reading the history... More

Walked though the sliding front door and instantly loved this loud rambunctious diner. Servers were fun and helpful to a first timer. 11AM and went with the garbage plate with homemade bread. Wow. Huge portion on the smaller order and I can eat! Thanks to Franks for a great lunchfast.

Our group of 5 (2 ad, 2 teens, 1 child) went for lunch on a Saturday, got there 1/2 hour before they closed. There was still a line (which you are crammed in against the wall in the tiny restaurant). Since this was our first time, we didn't know what to expect or how things work. After about 15 minutes... More

I will be moving from the Kenosha area soon and wanted to visit one of its gems, Frank's Diner! We arrived at 9am on a holiday weekend, and while there was a line, it wasn't out the door (yet). The inside is small, and guests line up against a wall behind other guests eating at the counter. Within 20min we... More

Waiting inside is half the entertainment with the energetic cooking and wait staff! Place is tight so you'll get to know them and your fellow diners during the wait. All the meals are cooked from scratch and therefore takes time, especially for the size of the meals. When their cooking, there is no hot top surface visible. Every millimeter is... More

You have to get up early to get in on Saturday morning without a wait, but it is worth it! The food was served up by excellent servers and the coffee is served up by a sarcastic, hilariously obnoxious guy who claims he doesn't work there, but keeps everyone amused and in check. Portions and taste were both huge! The... More
