I finally got my German Fix!

We’ve been traveling and I’ve been hungering for something a little piquant, so when I saw the Winzer Stube in town I knew I had to give ‘em a try and get a little sweet-sour fix. Boy am I glad I did! We grew up in Milwaukee with plenty of good German food around and this was some of the... read more

Recently four of us drove from the Twin Cities to go to Winzer Stube on the recommendations of Trip Advisor. Two of us were very pleased, two thought our food was average at best. My spatzel was gummy and not worth eating. Potato pancakes were too thick, and overcooked to be dry. I am very fond of Weiner Schnitzel but... More

This was our 2nd visit to Winner Stube. The decor and food is very authentic. I had a paprika schnitzel which was huge. The spatzel was a bit dry but still good. POTATO PANCAKES are yummy. If you want German this is a good choice in Hudson.

This is a lovely restaurant with a shockingly authentic atmosphere that made me feel like I was in a basement restaurant somewhere in Berlin. The menu is quite broad and features more options than I've seen in most German restaurants in the United States. We still went with the standards and were not disappointed. The portions sizes are plenty large... More

I had the Kastler-ripchen dinner. The dumplings were just the right size. The generous mild kraut was perfectly seasoned. The brown gravy was right. My partner had the spaetzle with Wiener Schnitzel and it was divine, even better than Wien. It was noon and had a long ways to go, so we could not avail the beer selection which is... More

Had the ham sandwich on pretzel bun. Good- but as usual not enough food. They seem to skimp on food - especially for the price. I thought it would be a slice of ham they cooked in the kitchen, but it's seemed to be store bought ham and one thin slice of cheese. Spaetzl (sp?) on the side -small portion... More

Absolutley the best German restaurant we've ever been to and my wife who is German concurs. We all had the schnitzel dinners which were half price with the purchase of any beverage. The sauerkraut was to die for and the sides of spatzle, mashed potatoes and dumplings were excelent. The schnitzels were done to perfection and the gravies were tasty.... More

When I stepped down the stairs, I was transported back to the many Gasthauses I visited over several years living in Germany. The salads were fresh - marinated in the various sauces I remember from Europe. The beer and wine selection was great! I had a Radler (beer and lemon/lime) and recommended choices to my extended family - they loved... More

It's a great place to eat at with family and friends. They can certainly accommodate large groups of people. I would suggest if its going to be more than 12 I would call ahead to make sure they have the room, especially if its between 5:30-6:00pm during the weekend.
