Still great!

We'd been to the Sawmill in December of 2013 and June of 2014, and liked it well enough to drive over from Spooner where we were staying, for the Friday fish fry, and we weren't disappointed. The food is still very good, the waitresses are still friendly, and the "local color" is quite entertaining... read more

Great food. Had a Chopped Grill salad with chicken, crisp greens. Others had the Rueben which they all enjoyed. Had lots of corned beef and cheese. Good beers on tap.

Friendly staff, nice bar and great pizza! Has enough space to accommodate small events. It is almost a "landmark" restaurant in the small town of Seeley.

Great eclectic architecture, staff that makes you feel like you are at home, food that is really delicious and a surprising variety. Nice that they have occasional live music too.

Stopped in for lunch with my family. I had the best grilled chicken mixed green salad I've ever had. I've been on a special diet for 3 months and I'm tired of salads. The chicken was grilled to perfection and had a great flavor. The mixed green were fresh, crisp and flavorful. I thought I was doomed when my family... More

My husband andI stopped in after a long 6 hr ride up to the Hayward area. We were starving and ready to eat and our pizza was ready in minutes! It tasted fresh and delish! We have always passed the sawmill on our way to the cabin, it will now be a regular stop!

We have been to the Sawmill Saloon several times. We have traveled there via four wheelers, snowmobile and car. It's a must see due to the great collection of outdoor mounts, rare artifacts and interesting dining rooms and bar. Breakfast is great! The burgers are outstanding and we are headed there tonight to try out the Saturday night steak fry.... More

As would be expected there is the usual hamburgers, but I noticed there is a trend towards lighter and more 'healthy' choices. The lunch special was a humus/ham/cheese wrap. I wasn't in the mood for humus, but my husband chose a chicken salad (w/a punch) and he really enjoyed it. It brought sweat drops to his brow, unexpected but good.... More

Stopped here at 1:00 PM on a Tuesday and the parking lot was busy. Took a booth and the service was immediate. Nice menu, nice waitress. Good choice of good things and we chose a veggie pizza. Normal wait time for homemade pizza and it was delicious. Seemed like a homemade crust, too. Nice natural pine interior with lots of... More

When you are the only restaurant in a microscopic town (Seeley, well-north of Hayward) on a highway in a vacation area, travelers should be expected to be a big part of your clientele. These guys don't get that. We were on our way back to The Cities from Madeline Island and stopped in for lunch. We were there for well... More
