Over the years I have visited Chippewa Inn several times and I have never been disappointed by my experience. This is a traditional Wisconsin supper club with an emphasis on German food. But, don't let that mislead you.....there is a full page of steaks and chops and a full page of seafood options on the menu as well. I enjoyed... More

So glad I saw previous reviews and we were able to go. My husband and I went earlier this week, during our honeymoon trip to Hayward area. They were able seat us even though we had no reservation. I had the bone-in tenderloin and my husband the NY Strip, both delicious. The salty char on the outside and juicy medium... More

This was our first time at Chippewa Inn Supper Club. Our GPS told us we had another mile to go but we found it anyway. The dining room is a quaint place decorated in a combination of north woods and Bavarian Inn. My husband wanted the pork shank but they were out of it so he had the ribs. They... More

Good thing we went early, as the usual holiday mob showed up, many without reservations. Tom, the owner/bartender, knows how to mix 'em, so we had a relaxing cocktail before dinner. Lucky to also get a window table. Our waitress was so-so ... Lacking the warmth of some of the other staff. Didn't check on drinks or water, promised to... More

I am always reluctant to pay $30+ for a steak in a small town, but I did anyhow. It was done perfectly. My wife and I stopped here after a day staining and needed a good dinner. We talk to the owner, and he was very friendly. He actually seem to enjoy the restaurant (most of the north-woods places seem... More

This was our second time dining at The Chippewa Inn Supper Club. Our first experience was so incredible that I decided I would like to return for a special Mother's Day dinner. As before, the owner greeted us with a big smile and friendly conversation. We were seated immediately and our lovely server brought water and took our appetizer order.... More

Medium rare tenderloin is melt in your mouth delicious. Bone-in ribeye will make you say Mmmmmm throughout your meal. The German selections will make you want to lick the sauce off the plate. Love the atmosphere, the food, the wine, and the people. And yes, ask for Kelly!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. It has a German flair but also great American flavors. Try the Best of the Wurst, it's one of our favorites. Check out the back room it has the owners travel momentos +++. The atmosphere is always friendly. Ask for Kelly.

I have been to the Chippewa many times and have never been disappointed. The supper club is clean and thoughtfully decorated. The bar is intimate and relaxed. The food rivals anything Minneapolis or Milwaukee has to offer. I have dined at every fine steak house in these fair cities, but have never had steaks like I have had here. Perfectly... More

We don't frequent expensive establishments, but the "Chip" is our choice for anniversary, birthday, or when we have out-of-town guests. I've had their schnitzel, their Kassler Ripchen (smoked pork chops), their regular pork chops, the duck and the pork hock. All are very good. But in recent visits, I try to limit myself to their better cuts of steak. This... More
