I've eaten at "Fireside" perhaps 5 times in the last three years..and at no time did it live up to the "hype" that precedes it.. The food selections, in my experience, have varied from quite good to almost inedible, but they ARE a good example of style over substance. If one is impressed by a beautifully presented but mediocre, vastly... More

We found the Fireside a few years ago and keep going back every year. If you want the experience of a traditional Wisconsin supper club with both old favorites and sophisticated diverse menu items, you should not miss this Northwoods destination. Who would think of being able to get foie gras as an appetizer in the middle of the woods.... More

If you are looking for the best meal in Haywood, make The Fireside Inn a priority stop. A warm, welcoming cozy interior has a fully stocked bar. I recommend getting a seat in the large dining room where there is a full length window that opens into a view of the forest. Chef Chuck Warshawsky offers an amazingly diverse menu... More

Who would have expected such a meal deep in the woods! My wife and I were visiting friends. We asked where is the best place to eat and immediately they said The Fireside. Boy, they were not kidding. Chef Chuck presented wonderful, creative and interesting food. I will come back just to see what he comes up with next. Also,... More

My fiance and I went to the Fireside for Valentines day. The crowd is typically an older one. The place has a warmer feel, like an old time supper club. The meal was OUTSTANDING. She had sirloin, and it was the best I had ever had. Could cut it with a fork. Overall everything was great.

I called to make reservations and they asked for my number so I gave it to them. My boyfriend and I were late getting there and they had given our table away. What was the point of asking for my number if they couldn't call me? There was no bartender in the bar area when we has walked in. No... More

Drove 25 miles to Fireside based upon Trip Advisor ratings. We were the only table in the dining room (arrived about 6pm) until another couple came in as we were eating (and they were the only ones there when we finished). Waitress was very friendly. Food was not so good and expensive for the quality. Ordered a steak medium (expecting... More

My wife and I discovered The Fireside a few years ago while cruising around on our motorcycle. We stopped in and chatted for a while with the (then) new owners. We learned that the owner-chef had trained at a culinary school in Chicago. Both husband and wife were most pleasant. We went back on Saturday evening (Sept. 21, 2013) for... More
