Dinner with the parents

Food is consistenetly good and the service is excellent. Looks small from the street but trust me there is plenty of room. They are good withe larger tables as well. You will not be disappointed here

Sign said immediate seating...walked in and they acted like it was a big deal to get us seated without reservation...We both had the friday fish fry which was good but not spectacular...all fish was fried, no option. My wife had the salad and really liked the bacon dressing. I had the clam chowder and it was just OK. Decor is... More

Our first night in the area we went to the English Inn, which was recommended at our motel. We both had the specials for the day - Beef Wellington and Whitefish topped with Crab. Both were prepared and presented very nicely and were very good. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. He... More

Though a bit pricey, the Friday fish fry offers quite a selection from which to choose. Their spinach salad was terrific--just the right blend of flavors with their special hot bacon dressing. You do not go away hungry. Try for the "unfried" fish items--you can get the fried items anywhere!

We went to the English Inn in June ('15). It is a very nice setting and ambiance with unique light fixtures, stained glass and woodwork. If you can, try to get a table by one of the windows. We had the pistachio encrusted halibut which was good although slightly overcooked, and a rib eye steak which my husband said was... More

I dined here with a group of friends, and everyone ordered something different. Their specialties are the spinach salad with the hot bacon cherry dressing, and their beef Wellington! Both excellent excellent choices! Everyone was extremely happy with what they ate. :-)

We usually go to The English Inn during our visits to Door County. We love the French onion soup. The red skinned mashed listed on menu just seemed like instant butter flavored mashed potatoes though. No tragedy, I'll just choose something different next time!

We had an early dinner and it took an hour to get prime rib (rare). Twice baked was way overcooked. I thought the bread was good. Very good salad dressings. Just thought the steak was average. Great value for kids. Had a very good cocktail. For me, this was just very average

For a special end of vacation dinner, we chose The Old English Inn. It has an elegant old style with excellent meals. We both chose grouper-delicious. The meals are large with salad, bread, potatoes, and vegetables. There is an extensive wine list. They are known for Beef and Chicken Wellington. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. It is expensive,but... More

First you FEEL like you've entered an English Inn once you park. Very comfortable environment but I would preferred a chair without arms - they were a little narrow for someone my size. The raspberry brie was exceptional, my wifes shrimp was excellent, and they offered grouper which is my favorite fish and hard to find East of the Atlantic... More
