We were at Door County from Oct 18 - 19. We were told that Old Post Office is one of the best restaurants. We went in for Sunday breakfast. It was super crowded and we had to wait for 15-20 min to get a table. All this time during our wait, we were hoping that the food is worth the... More

I went for the Fish Boil which is cooked by the owner, who is a third generation fisherman from the area. Good food, great history, clean and relaxing dinning area.

Everyone has their fave breakfast spot in Door County, when you're ready for something different, try the Old Post Office. Great views of Eagle Harbor, delicious breakfast standards and very reasonably priced.

Went to a fish boil starring Earl The Fish Boil Master. He told us the history of the area (along with some fish jokes) while he was boiling the vegetables and fish. Then we entered the restaurant and enjoyed fresh boiled whitefish, red potatoes, onions, coleslaw, zucchini & rye & pumpkin breads. For dessert there was fresh cherry pie. Everything... More

What fun to be entertained by someone (other than me) cooking my dinner! In the restaurant's backyard, across the street from the lake, a nice sized campfire kept a caldron boiling. The fire master explained the process while adding potatoes and whitefish to the pot. Everything was cooked to perfection and served with lots of melted butter inside this very... More

We were told by some people that this was a great place to eat, and they were right!! Our egg, bacon, and French toast breakfast with fresh juice was delicious! The building is adorable inside and out, and the breakfast menu is cleverly labeled! The front window overlooks the harbor, which is really nice! It is also a very bright... More

If you want to experience a real fish boil, make reservations at Old Post Office Restaurant. The cook explains the history of the fish boil while you wait for your dinner to cook over the open fire behind the restaurant. The cherry pie is a plus with this meal.

We went there for breakfast again. We have been to the Post Office for breakfast at least once on every trip. We had the French toast with bacon and the short stack of cherry filled pancakes with a side of bacon and coffee. They decreased the size of the pancakes from extra large (size of a large dinner plate) to... More

Family owned. The place is elegant. Large windows overlooking the bay - what a great view to enjoy with breakfast. Breakfast quality was excellent. Son had Belgium waffle with Cherry reduction and whipped cream on top. It was excellent. My standard breakfast was prepared excellent. Service was great - friendly and attentive. I couldn't imagine a more perfect breakfast -... More

I was somewhat hesitant when I first heard we were going to a traditional Door County Fish Boil as I am a reluctant eater when it comes to fish and bones. One bone and it is over for me. However, my fears were quickly swept aside when I was told that the wait staff are very helpful in removing the... More
