In Wisconsin tradition is the Friday Fish Fry. This place is fabulous. Five different types of fish. Walleye, Perch, Blue gills, Cod. The better half had the pan fried Bluegills and she was in heaven. I had the breaded perch, also very excellent. Large portions with excellent potatoes pancakes, coleslaw and rye bread. Closed out dinner with an excellent grasshopper... More

Extremely long waiting period. 1 1/2 hours since we ordered until when we got food, and in that time only once were we offered drinks. This was even though our group pre-booked before visiting. Staff still expected us to tip. Most of the time in USA we were happy to tip even though not used to it, but not here.... More

We've had many great meals and family celebrations here in the past but the service has steadily gone down. The Grist Mill burger is still the best we've ever had (with gluten free bun upon request) but it still doesn't make up for a waitstaff that isn't well trained and attentive. The decor is tastefull and relaxing, so all things... More

I went with my family on 09/17/15 and our bill was $50.00 my dad gave him 5 for a tip because that's 10% and he had the nerve to ask him for more money?! Never going back there if some guy is going to try to take money away from my father. Very unprofessional and rude. It is not a... More

I went there for the ribs several years ago & have been there every time I'm in SE WI. I've never had a bad meal here & mostly went there for their Friday fish fry. Like everything else it was great.

The people are always friendly, but they are slow with service. There are too many young people waiting on the tables. This place needs some seasoned veterans to train them to do their jobs right. The food is always a disappointment here as well. The only thing that we have eaten here that we like was a fish fry. Can't... More

Poor service , mediocre food. Find another venue. . Lived here 18 months and this place has always struggled with serving customers. Tonight we ordered a special and a blt and waited 45 minutes. They need to find another business .

I asked the cheerful server my go-to-query: "I’m from out of town. If I never come back what is the one thing I should try?” THE GRIST MILL ($12.99) An 8 oz. patty topped with two slices of bacon, fried egg, slice of grilled pineapple, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and I held the onion. It was huge and delicious! Granted,... More

We have eaten here several times in the last 2 years, most recent being this month. The pizza used to be great. Not sure what has happened lately but the food quality has sadly diminished. The pizza this time was very undercooked, turkey "reuben" was soggy and extremely greasy and the all-you-can-eat pasta was hit or miss. The chicken alfredo... More
