We have had many dinners at the Riverstone and although good, not fabulous, we always went back because it has an excellent wine list and the restaurant is very nice. However, we recently had lunch on a Saturday and our experience was terrible. First of all it took 15 minutes to get seated, then a server never came to our... More

The service and fresh baked bread and garlic olive oil dipping sauce, along with walleye cakes were wonderful!

A review of this place has to be prefaced with the caveat that while it is the best restaurant in town, that is damning with faint praise. This place would never make it as a fine dining establishment in a real city. But it is fine, and we have always had a nice time here. We try to eat here... More

My husband and I dined here for lunch on a rare "date day". The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, a few tables on the patio and one other in the dining room. It took @ 10 minutes for the waitress to greet us after being seated and @ another 10 minutes to get sodas. After waiting 35 minutes for... More

If you love wine like me...the Riverstone is the place you want to go! They have Cakebread Chardonnay and Stags Leap Artemis Cabernet by the the glass. Wow unheard of! Best wine, best food best restaurant in the northwoods!

Back when this was the Logging Camp Kitchen they had amazing food and a select but quality wine list. Each year since they have increased the diversity of their wine cellar and dropped the quality and interest of their food. It's not been a good choice in my view.

We arrived a little late in the evening and were made to feel as welcome as if we'd arrived for an early seating. The service and food were wonderful. My father had the Canadian walleye, which was excellent, and I had the Riverstone Reserve Salad--delicious! It's not often that a salad is memorable, but the combined flavors and textures of... More

We make it a habit to stop here every time we are in the area. The setting is lovely, and the food is always good. The homemade breads are fantastic, and you can take a loaf home. We especially Ike the fish.

My husband and I enjoyed drinks, appetizers and fish fry here. I had a cilantro margarita at the bar that was amazing- very unique. We ordered the Wisconsin Jousto and Walleye Fish Cakes for our appetizers. The star of the fish cakes was the dipping sauces. The dill caper and wasabi cucumber sauce made the walleye shine. The Jousto was... More

Very good food here in a slightly more formal setting than normally seen in the area (e.g. 6 page wine list, waiters in black outfits and white shirts, soup poured from a metal serving pot into your bowl at tableside, dessert cart, etc). Soups and breads are great. Good variety of entrees, heavy on the pasta dishes. Only negative is... More
