After many years Ilija had a landlord change. It seems the new landlord only cares about money, she increased the rent to the point that Ilija and his lovley wife were not able to remain there. Imagine pushing such a great business out of your door... Ilija's Place closed this fall and Cudahy and all Southeastern Wisconsin will miss them.... More

THE BEST sarma, venison goulash and lamb shank in town, not to mention all the Serbian specialties! My husband and I have taken many friends and family members there over the past 3 years and worked our way through the entire menu...everything is amazing! We've never been disappointed. Ilija is warm and welcoming and very charming as is his handsome... More

As a change from regular menu fare, we decided to eat at this Croation restaurant. It is a very distinctive menu in a totally European atmosphere. I pointed to the special because I couldn't pronounce it. Service was efficient and food quite tasty.

We have been going to Ilija's for dinner for at least 8 years. We absolutely it!!! The family who own it are amazing. Ilija is such a pleasant host. He always makes sure we are well taken care of. His son,Neven, is equally welcoming and friendly. Georgia, the beautiful wife of Ilija, is an extraordinary cook. Her food is always... More

After driving 400 miles to Milwaukee and being distracted and upset by a problem with our car, my wife and I arrived at Ilija's last Saturday evening. We were greeted by Ilija (and his wife and son) like old friends an quickly offered some libation to smooth our ruffled feathers. Ilija has a full service bar that has some Serbian/European... More

The walls of this establishment are embellished with a host of Serbian art, artifacts and nostagia. One gets a wonderful feel of the history of Serbia: their colorful culture and pride. The owners are warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating. This is a typical family enterprise, and there is no doubt that they pour their souls into the restaurant. The food... More

This was a surprise that was just delightful. The people are great and so is the food. You really can't beat the ethnic flavor and the warmth with which you are treated. The Serbian Tea (tea with honey and plum brandy with some spices) is a wonderful way to warm up on a cold Milwaukee day. I couldn't rave enough... More

Located on a side-street in residential Cudahy, Ilija's Place is a family affair. The father and son team treat you like guests in their own home. There is a well stocked bar and a nice menu. The food is home cooked Serbian. It was all outstanding. Especially good was the Sarma (Cabbage Rolls) and the Paprikash. Also, be sure to... More
