We love the sheeley, whether its for happy hour or a local band you cannot beat the atmosphere of the sheeley. Good home town bar, the clientele are not a bunch of rowdy college kids looking to get drunk and fight. Low key, older group of great people just looking to hang out and relax for a night out!

Went with couples. Staff was arrogant and a little rude. Almost had to fight with them on a couple of issues. Need to work on manners. They acted like they were doing you a favor. Food was just OK but way overpriced for what you received. Place had the smell of a room just above a basement. I would not... More

We visit Chippewa Falls several times a summer and decided to try the James Sheeley House for a special dinner based on the reviews for its atmosphere, good food and especially the cashew crusted walleye. We arrived around 7pm and found the restaurant almost empty. That should have been our first clue that something was amiss. Our waitress was friendly,... More

My wife & I were recently in Chippewa Falls for my birthday to do the Leinenkugel tour, we had read about the James Shelley House online and decided to check it out. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was good, not great, but good, but the service was great! An interesting old restaurant/bar, take the time to look around... More

We have been here every time we come into town to visit and they have been consistent with good food and good service. Bar downstairs that allows kids in it until 10pm so if you want to get a drink before dinner there is no issue if you have kids.

We've been here twice, sat outside on the patio twice, ordered the Walleye dinner twice and had a great waitress twice. Had a great time both times, I would definitely recommend trying it!

Awesome experience in an old historical and haunted house. Food was really good, seating was a little cramped but what do you expect when they turn an old house into a restaurant. We love history and had to try this one!

The Sheeley House is a restored old boarding house. The ambiance is very nice in the upstairs restaurant especially when they have the lights dimmed. The lower bar features live music and has a cozy atmosphere. We cannot speak for the other food items as we always get the fish fry on Friday evenings. The entire entree is prepared well... More

We chose the upstairs restaurant for dinner and was sorely disappointed. I chose the special pork roast - hideous .... over seasoned and it tasted like it was poached in the marinade instead of being roasted. The rice side dish was better - but so hot I think it was nuked. The veg consisted of undercooked carrots and an entire... More
