Charming, friendly and great food

7 layer salad, fried potatoes and soups are my favorites here. Always interesting and delicious daily specials. The wait staff is the friendliest in town. A little east of Washington Ave, so don't miss it. My husband has a hard time deciding between their hamburgers and their Reuben. Great problem... read more

Lovely atmosphere, friendly, efficient staff, but the food is pretty run of the mill...steak and potatoes.... Lots of starch over cooked veggies.

Enjoyed our dining experience, however, when we suggested the kitchen take the string off the pea pods our waitress said in her twenty years the restaurant served the pea pods the same way... we were somewhat put out with the response.

We slight out farmstead based on the other reviews, and we were not disappointed. At first it's easy to think of the decor as Cracker Barrel, but as we sat waiting for our food, it's clear that the old farm related signs are very curated, original, and meaningful to the essence of the restaurant. We both had the Bloody Mary,... More

Glad we noted on other reviews that this gem is difficult to locate. Thankful that we did find it though. Enjoyed a seven layer salad (first time I have ever found that on a menu). Enjoyed a tenderloin with garlic glaze and garlic mashed potatoes. The flavor of the steak and the potatoes was great. I highly recommend this restaurant.... More

Bustling scene on Fridays & Saturdays, and worth the wait. Very friendly and good service; family owned. High quality food; open for lunch; plenty of parking. Has a hint of a Wisconsin Northwoods eatery. Good, basic grilled meat dishes, but enough for vegetarians as well. Fun bar serves as the waiting room.

It took us a little while to find this place, but it had been recommended to us by several people. We went for lunch on a Wednesday. We had one of the specials of the day, which was a walleye sandwich. It was delicious. Very unique dining room in an old farmhouse. Our waitress told us that on weekends, people... More

Quietly tucked in behind McDonalds, look to your right behind the two story building, and you'll find a gem of a restaurant. Very good food. Pricing is excellent. Think of home made quality food. Atmosphere is the best. We usually like to sit at the bar, have a drink and then share our food at the bar. Just a very... More

We have been eating at The Farmstead for many years. The food, drinks, atmosphere and staff are amazing! My husband entertains clients from all over the US, Canada and Europe, all of them love the Farmstead and ask to go back each time they visit Wisconsin. They serve prime black angus beef, fresh daily salads and home made deserts. when... More

Good Food, Reasonable prices, in near downtown Cedarburg. Their onion haystacks are fabulous, This quaint small restaurant is great for an afternoon lunch or evening dinner. Great for couples or groups to 6. Has an accompanying bar, you while you wait for your table.
