It's closed!

We have stopped here several times for the german lunch specials on our way north fishing. First the sign out front said closed for renovation. Now it's just closed. End of an era?

Out of the way but close to I-90. Been there forever. Tired but the Bluff Burger (cole slaw topped with local fresh cheese) was perfect. Been on the menu for over seven decades. The sauerbraten was ok. Potato salad was weak. Red cabbage was very good. German chocolate cake was excellent. Waitress said the Black Forest cake has been off... More

Drink was weak. Cheesecurds tasted ok but we're only "warm". The house specialty burger was so messy that the bun was soggy before I got to the other half. Too much sauce. It fell apart multiple times. The meat itself was definitely frozen and warmed, not fresh ground beef. Flavor was poor. Service wasn't horrible.

Happened to see a sign for this while driving home from vacation. Was about dinner time, so we gave it a try. Glad we did. Jagerschnitzel and Pork Cordon Blu were both very good.

Stopped in today after visiting at nearby Mill Bluff State Park. Our waitress was very attentive with a friendly attitude. They had a decent selection of different beers. I enjoyed the Celebrator Dopplebock. We ordered the bratwurst appetizer with mustard dipping sauce. Not something I would normally eat but it was tasty. I had the Wiener Schnitzel sandwich and my... Loved the ambiance, which was only exceeded by the great Bavarian menu. Service was absolutely superb.

We have been visiting this restaurant for several years, and try to aim for their German Smorgasbord on Saturday nights, once a month. Not on a regular schedule, check their website "Events". Nice selection of German dishes on the regular menu too.

The food was absolutely horrible! My husband ordered the Bluff Burger which he found a huge piece of gristle in upon taking his second bite. I ordered the Reuben sandwich which was horribly soggy with way overcooked canned sauerkraut, most likely pre packaged corned beef and overly greasy bread that was barely grilled. The soup and salad bar was absolutely... More

My friends and I enjoy trying local places when we are driving and since we weren't in a hurry--we figured that we would give this place a try. Big, big mistake. I don't really know where to begin...maybe the poor service....or maybe the terrible cold food....or the expensive prices....or the long wait for said food....truthfully, there was nothing redeeming about... This is in all seriousness probably the worst place that I have ever eaten at. I went there with some friends while we were training at Volk Field and it was simply horrible. The service was slow and unwelcoming but what really was bad was the food. I ordered a lemonade and the waitness brought me a can of Country... More
