After a wonderful outdoor dining experience last summer, we decided to try it for our anniversary on May 31. Although it was a bit too cool to eat outdoors, the rest of the dining experience was equally wonderful. The fresh sockeye salmon was incredible - and the photos featured indoors were almost as special as being outdoors. We will be... More

This restaurant is a find! Foodies will love the menu, and the visual presentation is wonderful. Great flavors and sophisticated, but casual surroundings feel upscale while not pretentious.

I have only eaten here once, as it is pretty far from where I live. There was a good selection of items on the menu - fresh and creative. I own a lodge and have sent guests here. They have come back with very positive reviews.

We have been to the Rookery quite a few times, and can honestly say that we have never been disappointed. The food is consistently (key word!) the star, but great service and the warm/friendly environment is a close second. Last night we enjoyed the Valentine menu - and each course was perfect ... the halibut main course being our favorite... More

Feel like you stepped outside of our small town life and straight into fine dining in san fransisco or something! Its fabulous! I recommend the walleye, fennel pork and pretty much everything! We eat there for most special events and Bill and the gang are incredible! Thank goodness for good food in the boondocks! :)

We had a great dinner at the Rookery. If we lived in the Cable/Hayward area we would eat here all the time - high quality ingredients and inspired cooking - looking forward to going back when we're in Cable/Hayward.

This is not your usual northwoods super club fare. This is fine dining like downtown Chicago, Minneapolis, etc. The dining room is casual so my jeans and plaid shirt were fine. My martini was just the way I like it. My steak was rare sitting on a bed of grilled vegetables and no baked potato. The food was very good.... More

I have only eaten here once. I had a very good experience. Definitely unique menu offerings and fresh items - good flavor profiles (I watch cooking shows :)). I have heard many positive things about this restaurant from locals and travelers. I have not heard anything negative.
