Terrific meal and service

A group of 8 of us had an excellent meal here -- everyone was pleased with their meal selection. The service was excellent and the food terrific. The fresh walleye was the best I've had anywhere. They do not take reservations for under 6 people which is annoying. The prices are hand written on the menu which makes me question if there are two sets of prices. The food was very good and came with plenty to eat. The salad does need to be spruced up but is made with items from the garden. The staff... More

5 star restaurant. Every time I go to this restaurant I order the same thing. Shrimp St Jacques. It is huge shrimp with mushrooms in a cream sauce in puff pastry. Out of this world. They also make it with scallops Another nice feature is their steaks are available in two sizes. The same goes for their extensive veal dishes... More

Run by a talented chef, his food is artfully and tastily prepared, plus he has several flavors of home made ice cream. Jimmy usually visits his guests during their meal and particularly the regulars. It's a really pleasent dining experience.

No other restaurant like this. Personalized service with food made to your order. The owner/chef greets each diner and makes sure you enjoy your meal. It's not cheap, but you won't leave hungry. Everything from bread to fabulous ice cream is made on the premises. The generous portion of walleye was extremely tasty! I went with a large group and... More

Prices are up by $5/entree. Menu is the same as it has been for ten years...tired. Food is consistently of great quality but no surprises.

Used to go to Boulder Junction to enjoy dinner at the Outdoorsman. They now specialize in breakfast and lunch. Tried the Guides Inn this week. Had a wonderful tenderloin. Cooked to perfection. The staff was most accommodating. Always heard this was a great place to eat and they were right. Jim and Katherine were great. I will definitely return.

We were in Bolder Junction for a snowmobile trip in early March and had enough of typical bar food and decided to give this place a try. I had a great steak and my wife had the fish special complete with appetizer, soup and salad. The chef (yes chef) not fry cook, defiantly has a rounded culinary background as everything was prepared... Great dining experience. Shrimp appetizer, salad, soup and blackened scallops were amazing. I also tried the beef wellington and was equally impressed. Wasn't expecting this high of quality food and service. This is a must stop if you are in Boulder Junction. Best meal I have had in a very long time.

We have been here 5 or 6 times and usually as a big group of 10-14 people. When we're up in northern Wisconsin fishing, we set one night aside from grilling at the cabin to go into town and have dinner at the Guide's Inn. The menu is diverse and eclectic. Rack of Lamb, beef wellington, a black forest schnitzel,... More
