Our extended family of 14 dined here last week and everyone was pleased. They start you off with a nice plate of appetizers, followed by delicious soup and salad, and a wide choice of entrees. I had a veal dish with Gruyere cheese, tomato and onion. Unusual and excellent.Others in our group enjoyed the duck, rack of lamb, walleye and... More

Great menu and great food. The service was awesome. The chef came out often to talk with customers. Excellent walleye. Every table gets an appetizer platter which is big.

Go Hungry! Your meal is served in courses - not all at once - which I really liked. Be careful not to fill up on the appetizers. Leave room for dinner. The food is plentiful and rich! It was so good, I wasn't able to eat it all. The chef came out to chat with us and check to make... More

This place can always be counted on for a good meal. And the menu is not just the standard northwoods food. On my recent trip I went there again and was pleased as always. And the people are very very friendly.

Up in northern Wisconsin for Memorial Day weekend, we stopped at the Guide's Inn located in little Boulder Junction. The Guides Inn has been serving food for many decades. The grounds are beautiful, with a park-like large flower garden. Like many of the supper clubs in the area, dinner includes a parade of food: a large appetizer plate (2 types... More

We took our 8 year old handicapped grandson there for dinner at 5. We had a drink, were seated and asked to leave. He has Down syndrome and was being a kid, nothing a cracker couldn't cure. We've traveled the world with Ben to the best restaurants and have never seen such discrimination. They've been in the woods to long. If... More

this is a pretty pricey and fancy place to eat so I expected good service and good food. I was fine with the service, but the food! My Veal Scallopini was soggy and I ended up sick overnight. The other couple we ate with were also disappointed. She also had the veal and got sick. My husband had a steak... More

My in-laws raved about this restaurant for years. Said it was the best in the area. We ate there last year and this year again and it's just tired. The menus are torn and have white-out on them. There is a hand-written warning on the back of the last page regarding uncooked meat. Printing a new menu occasionally would be... More

Back in the late 80's and early 90's my parents and assorted friends would trek from Minocqua to Boulder Junction for one reason--the Guides Inn.The food was always top of the line, service pleasant and the atmosphere rustic and filled with north woods charm.I had not dined there for about 20 years, but on a recent trip back to Wisconsin I made... We had a difficult time deciding what on the menu to order. Everything looked so good. We opted to get some appetizers, fried cheese and onion rings (we were on vacation...), and it was a heaping helping of each. The cheese was really good and worth returning for! We were going to share a sandwich, but there was a $10... More
