I've been to this place twice and both times I ordered the special. This time it was chicken and dumplings; last time it was salmon patties, a delicacy that is very rare in these parts. We saw the specials as we walked by. $4.50 seems to be their price for their daily breakfast special. First day we both had the 2 egg, potato & sourdough toast. Like my title above says "solid". 2nd day the special was French toast w/sausage patty, she ordered a fruit parfait which was not a special. All good in this... More

Jen always has a great breakfast at at great price. It our go-to place whenever we're in town. Her specials are always good, but I always get 2 eggs, basted and hash-browns. Jen really does hash-browns right, crispy and wonderful. I place the eggs atop them and it doesn't get soggy. Comes with an English muffin or toast. The coffee... More

A nice surprise. A stranger on the street recommended this little café. When we walked in I was almost ready to walk out as it just seemed so dated BUT we really are glad that we sat down and stayed. Very clean. Excellent service - thank you Franklin - and good, reasonably priced food for a family. Recommended!

We stopped in here for lunch on our way up to the Dells. The front isn't much to look at, but the interior is beautiful. The tall wooden booths are great for privacy and conversation but the mirrors on the end of the booths help to provide an open feel. The food is solid diner food. We had a mix... More

My wife and I were hoping for a classic Wisconsin Friday fish fry, with something more than frozen cod that we can get back home in MN. We asked around and were stymied until we found out that Jen's has, in addition to cod, Milwaukee style peach (with "a little more beer in the batter") and smelt. I had the... More

The decor reminded me of I thought a town diner would have looked like at the turn of the last century. We would recommend the breakfast food.

Looking for a place to have a good breakfast after 3 days of camping. Drove around downtown Baraboo and found Jens. Upon entering, I was taken back to yesteryear. Truly a charming place! Everything was as it was when it opened 3 owners ago. The booths were a work of art hand built in 1930 and still in fantastic condition.... More

An interesting menu that makes the food sound like it will be beautiful but when the food comes out... not so good-looking, nor did it taste good. We had a longer-than-normal wait, the burgers were well done and firm - I'd say overcooked. This place uses the fancy breads and buns but our group doesn't care for the harder buns... More
