As mentioned in other reviews - the fish sandwich is good but I wouldn't go out of may to get to Coleman's. The atmosphere is rough and I'm not sure exactly how clean the place was.

To me this Wheeling Signature meal was simply bland, deep-fried whitefish on sliced white bread. But local people just love the fish sandwiches and it was repeatedly recommended to us. I just can't account for the taste gap. If you go to Wheeling people *will* ask you if had a Coleman's fish sandwich ... so I figure it's a mandatory... More

Great food. Wonderful quality, great price and good selection. The fish sandwich is a great value. We also shared some onion rings and JoJo potatoes. A must stop place to eat!

Coleman's is a fish market that sells cooked food. The fish sandwiches as the best item. Loaded with lightly breaded fish on plain white bread. You place your order, pick it up and can eat at one of the tables in this mini mall type setting. My husband is from Wheeling and we always stop by when we're in town!... More

Went to the Market because we had heard it was a good fish sandwich. Be careful when you order the sandwich comes on white bread if you want it on a bun you have to ask and it is more. fish was ok but nothing special. Onion rings were good but wouldn' t go out my way to get there.

Couldn't believe the line for the fish sandwich but after having one I could see why. I also ordered the cole slaw and seasaoned fries. The sandwich had a fairly large amount of fish between the white bread. Fun sitting there and watch everyone enjoy their lunch. . This lunch was like a mini dinner.

I had to laugh at the reviewer who gave Coleman's 1 star and said it smelled fishy. If you want a fish sandwich that has no aroma or taste, buy one at a chain burger joint. On the other hand, if you want a fish sandwich that tastes great without the benefit of any condiment, this is your place. There... More

I was surprised that a for profit restaurant could replicate a Catholic fish fry in looks as well as taste. The fish was really good and the portions were more than generous. Being in a market building with a fish market may discourage some from trying this but the cleanliness of the place and the taste, quality, and quantity is... More

Returning to my hometown of Wheeling every summer for vacation, Coleman's always tops my list of favorite local eateries. Not only do they have their signature fish sandwiches to offer, but if you need to feed a big group, I'd highly recommend their seafood platters (both steamed and fried). The steamed one comes with pasta and crab salad, herring and... More
