Expensive but pretty tasty

On a visit back to my home town, my friend and I had lunch at the Happy Days Cafe. I thought it was a cute diner, with a good sandwich/hotdog/hamburger menu to go along with the theme. I had the Reuben and my friend had a grilled cheese sandwich, and we both found our meals to be good. My... read more

Great name to draw you in. It's all plain Jane after that. Cute names for the food. But the food is bland. If your looking for a corn dog and fries. .. it's OK. If your looking for a nostalgic 50s dinner run away. With a little investment in the decor, floats and period music they could really have a... More

We decided to try out the Happy Days Cafe on our visit, and found it not to have the charm and or quality that we assumed was there upon reading the reviews. I asked for the fried chicken dinner special and was told that they only had thighs. I said that wouldn't be my choice. The waitress said that they... More

While we were shopping, this diner was recommended by the staff so we decided to give it a try. This is a seat-yourself, no frills diner with 1950's appeal. The dining room is well-lit by the huge storefront windows in which we chose a table. Specials were written on a huge chalkboard. They had four different soups for the day... More

If you want a "Mayberry" type of meal, go to Happy Days, where the service is down home friendly and the food is good. Sometimes there are home baked pies available for dessert! Whether you want something basic or on a diet (they have salads) or just wanting a basic good meal, visit Happy Days.

We visited Happy Days for lunch and found the place to be clean and we would eat here again. The wait staff greeted us promptly and was very helpful in selecting what to eat. The walls are covered with things that related to teh 1950's but didn't have direct references to the old TV show. They need a juke box.... More

The restaurant is a block from the South Charleston Indian Mound. A menu full of hand made sandwiches and old fashioned bottles of soft drinks.

I ate here for lunch one day, and it was great. I saw they serve breakfast and returned the following day with 3 ladies (business). It was pathetic.....the waitress yelled from the restaurant seating area to the cook in the rear to see if they had english muffins. (she did not walk back and chose to yell) Are you kidding... This oldies style cafe is located in the center of South Charleston. It features an american menu with many items to choose from. I would say the food here is slightly above average. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is always spotless. What hurts this cafe the most are prices. Even though the food is good, the prices... More
