One of the friendliest welcomes in the USA

We ate here twice, once by choice and the second by necessity. This is not a glamorous restaurant but it is packed with real West Virginians and it is a splendid place to immerse yourself in local colour. The Fiddlehead Restaurant is located at the 'base of' Snowshoe Resort. On a very, very foggy evening we opted not to drive up the mountain for dinner and ate at the Fiddlehead! Good choice. Casual and reasonably priced the food and beer selections were more than adequate. Mostly an offering of burgers and pizzas and a small (6 or 7)... More

Great food. Vegetarian entrees and burgers from beef made from sustainable farms. Wood fired oven pizzas that are wonderful.

We have been in WV for one week today and the food and atmosphere here is BY FAR the best so far. Awesome wings, incredible grass fed burger, and incredible dessert. We will be back tomorrow night. Note: noisy bar with live music but that makes the atmosphere even better :)

Food was great, but the facility was way, way too noisy and full of flies. Noisy bartender, way too loud musicians forced patrons to yell at one another to be heard. No apparent effort at fly control.

The first night there I ordered the steak dinner, which was perfectly cooked. I really had wanted the black bean and quinoa burger, but thought a restaurant "out in the middle of nowhere" might not offer a good one. After having the excellent steak, I ordered the black bean and quinoa burger the second night we went there and ,... More

The burger was very good and the woodfired pizza was also very good. It was a quiet night when we were there with no band playing.

Neat bar environment with decent food. I do recommend the grain fed burger. Stay away from the nachos, kind of greasy. Live music Saturday night was great. Bartenders very friendly and make good drinks. Bathrooms are nasty… Just saying. Don't break the seal if you don't have to.

First let me say that the food was alright but the service and overall experience was terrible. After we were seated took a long time for the waitress to come to our table. Was told that if we ordered a pizza the wait for it would be at least 30 minutes (which was alright with us). Drinks were brought after... More

I recently had Fish Tacos - grilled mahi-mahi (dolphin fish) that were simply perfect. Flavours were balanced and perhaps the best tacos I've ever had. Plenty of local and regional beers on offer to accompany the meal. This is a nice local, earthy place. Decor is functional and quirky, clearly expanded over time. But the food is above what you...
