This is a charming mostly vegetarian restaurant with imaginative dishes which can be enjoyed outside under shady trees and beside a rippling brook. It is a marvelous, cool setting on a hot summer's day. Service is good, unhurried, but efficient. You feel like lingering and enjoying the sounds of summer. Do find this spot if you are in the Shepherdstown... More

Busy, young place with great food. Sit out back if the weather allows. Sure beats restaurant and chain food!

Visited on a Friday. Restaurant was very busy. Servers were constantly moving. Great, original food. We had Baked Brie and Crab Melts as apps. Meatloaf sandwiches as our lunch. Sit outside if possible and be patient with wait staff, it is worth it. I would eat here again.

Dinner was good and the service was pleasant. Everything was fine. However, I didn't think that anything was particularly special.

A popular low cost hang-out with top-notch food, emphasizing natural local ingredients, and wonderful service if the crowds aren't too much. Terrific staff with an earthy sense of humor.

The waitress was pretty good in that she hustled, but she pretty much threw the food and drinks onto the table & wouldn't do separate checks. The service ended up being slow at times and our waitress didn't want to come back to give us the desert options (too, TOO busy and I guess she just didn't have the time... More

The food here is fabulous. The food tastes fresh and not the normal processed food that you get at so many restaurants. The "Pilgrim" is absolutely fabulous! However, my husband swears by the Powerhouse. I don't know that we have ever had a bad meal here!

Considering other options in Shepherdstown, this place is pretty good. Good service and good food. The interior could use a cleaning and the flies were distracting. But a better choice when choosing in Shepherdstown.

Bohemian setting in Shepherdstown offers mostly appetizers and sandwiches. Good selection of draft beer. Enjoyed brie and apple appetizer also noodles. Both very good. Comprehensive list of uniquely named sandwiches. I had BLT. My son had Sroom Philly. My daugher had the Jesse (and some Spanish names I forget). Anyway, service was good. It was surprisingly busy for a late... More

We loved our first visit to the cafe.... we sat outside... great ambiance with the water running through the restaurant and fabulous service. The menu is fun, lots of variety and I had the gazpacho. We liked it so much that we decided to return a week later, when we were passing through again. Yes, the food was good-- but... More
