Excellent but very small restaurant in downtown Sherperdstown. Reservations a must on weekends. Good food, daily specials and full bar.

We read the great reviews for The Press Room and decided to try it because it sounded better than any restaurant in Harper's Ferry, where were were staying. The scallops (my meal) and the veal (my husband's) were cooked to perfection and the ambiance was just what we were looking for - elegant, but not pretentious. We loved the wine... More

The menu is varied and the oysters were a big hit. We either had rack of lamb or pasta and everyone raved about their food

Received a great referral from a local shop owner and the oysters did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and asked the bartender to choose a dozen of his favorite and they were amazing. Will definitely be back! If you want to eat dinner make sure and make a reservation!

From start to finish, we found the experience such a gem for such a small town in rural West Virginia. We live in a town of 50K in NH, with nothing close in caliber. The service was excellent, the meal well paced, menu selections varied and interesting. Although they are listed as American as their "style" it felt more French,... More

We stayed in Sharpsburg overnight but drove to this restaurant based on a recommendation of our B&B host. The food was really excellent and the menu choices most interesting and using local and seasonal ingredients. Overall, the value was excellent as well; not over priced but above average in all aspects. Would recommend a reservation as the place does fill... More

Burger special was good but not as good as I have had elsewhere in the county. I would go again. Everyone else got the French dpi and couldn't say enough about it.

We have been eating here for many years during the Contemporary American Theater Festival in July (must reserve during this period). A somewhat ambitious, upscale menu unusual in a small town; scallops and fish can be especially good. Kitchen and wait staff are attuned to theater curtain times.

My husband and I recently moved to Shepherdstown and were looking for a nice dinner out for Christmas. Wonderful food and excellent service. Very pleased with our meal.
