A timeline of our visit to Madeleine's: 6:31 - enter the restaurant. Note there are four other patrons and a bearded man in a sweatshirt playing banjo. I'm immediately skeptical. 6:32 - male waiter has us seat ourselves. I pick the table furthest from the banjo, which happened to be a four top. The male waiter asks us to select... More

I had visited this restaurant several years ago. Back then, it was one of the highlights of my trip. After hearing rumors and innuendo about the change in ownership and departure of the chef, against my better judgment I booked for a party of 3 on a Sat. night, hoping that the critics were wrong. Sadly, this was one of... More

We used to love this place but no more. The food was horrible. Simply put .. It tasted like cardboard . New lighting is too bright, it shows how dirty the floors are. I hate to say it, but the place is doomed

The food is worth a wait -- just not an hour long wait. We were the 2nd party (of 7) to be seated when they opened. By the time we were served our food, the restaurant was full and some tables had paid their bills and were leaving! They comped us 50% off the bill which was awesome and we... More

I was part of a group of 7 ladies who regularly meet for dinner and all of us agreed Madelines will be off our rotation. Slow was not the word for our waitress, PLUS we were all charged a 20% service charge for terrible service.

Madeleine's is a nice little restaurant in an old store front (if I recall correctly, the space was originally a furniture store). Decor is simple, sort of plain. Service was excellent. I had Madeleine's special salad, and a pasta dish with shrimp and a marinara sauce. Both were very good (and good values), as was the house white wine. Madeleine's... More

We have been twice on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The food is always excellent! While the service is a little bit on the slow side, the eggs benedict (with vegetables), pecan-encrusted french toast, and other entrees we've ordered have been fantastic.

Great Sunday brunch for very reasonable prices. Not quite as special as under previous owners, but still a bargain.

Attended Easter brunch as a first-time guest. For $25/person I expected more meat selections than ham and bacon; for $25/person I expected more selections of carbohydrate/vegetable than salad, green beans, a potatoe and a potatoe; for $25/person I expected fresh muffins instead of those that seemed to be more than a day old. The vegetarian breakfast quiche was tasty. The... More

Enjoyed being able to track food source back to local grown on West Virginia farms. Nice touch was local musicians played during dinner.
